Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Strawberry bubble gum works here.

We do trap when we see mouse activity and I bait with the poison bags for prevention. Each season I discover that all the bags are empty. Over the years it seems to be the only way that works.

I put the bags on the beams in the basement and in the attic. Our dogs, cats and visiting children cannot reach the bait and it really seems to be the only way to avoid an infestation.

We have had a mouse die in the wall near a heat vent. The smell lasts as long as a small Yankee candle jar. The candle / smell is worth NOT having an infestation.

And, because we are hsers, you would have to read The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear by Don Wood while setting the trap.

Cay, that was my oldest dd's favorite book! I was trying to think of the title a few days ago because we read it soooo much it fell apart! I was reminded of it because my 5yo dd has an adorable nightie with strawberries and mice on it (the cute kind of mice, not the kind I tend to get in the house )

Sounds like I'm a little late...but after 7 years in the country we've found that sometimes they're looking for nesting material (especially in the fall). We tie half a cotton ball on the trigger along with that smear of peanut butter and that seems to get them every time. (We have a farm cat as our first line of defense, but during harvest season, we have caught 4 mice a night every night for a week!

We recently moved out of post housing b/c of a mouse problem. We were backed up to an overgrown field and had mice more than we realized. Glue traps worked many many times. They are soooo sticky and smell like peanut butter. They can fold up like a "house" but we only ever caught them when they were left flat. They were storing up cups of dog food in all sorts of places.... even in the drawer under the stove and in the golf bag and golf shoes...

I know this is going to sound crazy, but my high school chem. teacher said the best way to catch mice is strawberry soda....I have to admit, I've never tried it (there's never been a need for me to) but I can say he was a great teacher!

HTH!
