Although I have not been in the same situation as you, I've recently been walking through some things in our church... some questionting about why we choose to homeschool when the church provides a christian school. I have been reading through the Psalms. Finding comfort in the fact that the Lord is my defender. I don't need mans approval or need to please man. I just need to be seeking the Lord and know that I (and my husband) have heard from the Lord in this area and that I will stand in front of Jesus one day and not them. Its been difficult because these are people that I love but I need to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit in this area and not what someone else thinks I should be doing. At this point I can only pray about the situation and ask the Holy Spirit to bring about a spirit of understanding for them. I have had to let go worry and trust in His Word.
Take comfort in the Lords promises to you Paula and His love letter (His Word) to you. I love you and am praying for today.
Plead my cause, Ol Lord, with those who strive with me; Fight against those who fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. Also draw out the spear, and stop those who pursue me. Say to my soul, I am your salvation!
Psalm 35:1-3
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land and feed on His faithfulness. Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass. He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light and your justice as the noonday. Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him. Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret -- it only causes harm.
Psalm 17: 3-8
I waited patiently for the Lord; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He also brought me up out of a horrible pit, Out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock and established my steps. He has put a new song in my mouth -- Praise to our God; Many will see it and fear and will trust in the Lord!
