Praying for you Marianne...maybe a second opinion would be helpful as well, just in case there is another possible senario for Gunther that is not as expensive. Also, try rubbing comfrey cream into the area, I had wonderful success with my dog years ago when it was fractured, their little bodies respond well!

Thank you all so much for your prayer...it means so much to us. This has been traumatic for our children...especially our older three. It was a tough night last night and a tough morning. he hadn't urinated in 20 hours. he didn't want to if he wasn't outside...such a good boy. he finally did and we were so relieved.
We took him to his vet appt. with OUR vet and he was so encouraging...I just wanted to hug him. he will x-ray Gunther on Wed. and we will make a decision then. If his hip is still in then he has a good chance of healing well. If it is out ...then surgery. He encouraged a second surgery option that would be much better. ( a toggle --a synthetic cylocone of sorts) Not as expensive and a wonderful healing rate.
He has gotten up and walked today...so much better than yesterday!
Just wanted to let you know...AND
THANK YOU for your prayer support and advice.

Thank you Nissa and Tracy for asking about Gunther. He is going into surgery today for his hip. My husband and I brought him to the surgery center yesterday (3 hour car trip there and 3 hours back).
It has been hard. My heart breaks when I see him suffer but so glad about the surgery. Financially this is hard as we will be into this approx. $5000
dollars. We are in financial difficulty as it is (self-employed).
Thank you for all of your prayers!
