Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Laura, I am so sorry you are going through this. My husband worked in Vegas while me and the three boys lived in Lake Arrowhead. It was so hard. I did not like living in Lake Arrowhead (we lived there six years)...I'd wake up each morning with dread...Now that I look back I was depressed.

But the Good Lord works in mysterious ways and now that I look back, he was shaping and forming our family.

I did find friends eventually and it was a turn around in my Catholic faith...I met people who encouraged me about homeschooling...my husband's business took a drastic turn around and change and that change 10 years later was for the better.

I am sending hugs and prayers. I will keep you in my daily prayers. Praying for all of your needs. It does take time to settle into a new area.
I know it is hard to imagine now but someday you will see God's hand in all of this...
Blessings,

Laura, I've been there (10 years ago). It *is* hard. The bad part? It takes a while -- quite a bit for me -- to adjust. The good part? Our marriage, family and faith are stronger for it, because we went through it TOGETHER and learned to lean on each other more than on anyone else. It does get better with time.

Praying for all of you.

You hit the "I hate it here" stage right on target, Laura! Not being glib here, but experience tells me that once I hit the "I hate it here and can't take it for one second longer," (sorta like the transition stage of birthing) God steps in and gives me the strength to do what I need to do...which is usually to let go of my old home and *make* my new one. My most difficult move and adjustment just happens to have been to Nevada, so I'm super sympathetic. Marital discord can be so easy when one spouse is happy and engaged with a new life while the other is floundering. Yet, this will all smooth out in time...really.

Mary G is right on the money. Take advantage of being alone with your family because this time won't last forever. By the time I moved to AZ, I had learned this valuable lesson and wasn't too quick to get involved.

You know I'm praying for you, friend. You have so much change swirling around you. As one of my Nevada friend's would say, "Just hang onto the bucking bronco and you won't get hurt!" Just hold onto our Lord and Mother Mary as best as you can, dear. It gets better...really.

Love,

Oh, Laura, I'm praying for you. Have been there, and also have dealt with panic and anxiety, and I so feel for you. I'll remember you in my rosary later tonight.

Praying here for you there. May God give you what you need (He will!). Know that you are never alone.

God bless,

Praying here. Moves are so hard. Esp when you are moving from family and friends.
