Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

So glad it's just impetigo!

If it's any consolation - I'm 0 - 60 on all things medical, too!

Jennifer I'm just reading your first posting and all I can say is nervous, motherly hearts think the same! I always tend to think the worst and now I have read your second postings, I am pleased to hear it was nothing serious, praying now for you and your daughter!

Thak you for all of your prayers. Cora started to heal quickly once we started the neosporin and kept it covered. The large lymph node went away with in 3 days. The lymph node on the other side got bigger, but nothing like the other one. This should go away within two weeks.

Guess what we are treating now......she had an alergic reaction to the band-aids so she has scabs and dry skin on both sides of her chin. No impetigo spread, but can you believe it!? The poor kid is tired of walking around with people saying, "Oh my! What happened?" She's handleing it like a trooper! She loves their reaction to impetigo!    She's the talker and curious one so she just goes on and on about how it oozed into her lymph nodes....LOVE HER!!!

God bless you all for your words of encouragement regarding my cross of worrying!

Oh how clearly I can see this !

Sorry about the reaction, sheesh! Curious, what did you use instead of bandaids?

Love,

Most band-aids are made of LATEX. She might be allergic to that. Try a brand that is latex free.

Blessings,

The band aids were latex free!!! I went to the pharmacy and the pharmacist said to use paper tape and gauze. Apparently, paper tape is the most sensative tape to use for bandages. I put the paper tape on her neck to test it first. No reaction. I never had to use it on her chin because there was no where to put it. Her chin was that bad!

Wow, I wonder what could have been in the band-aid that she could have been allergic too then.

Poor kid! I can't imagine.

Two of my kids have had impetigo on their backside. Jack has eczema and he had it (impetigo) on his face at his ears (sideburn area) a couple times but it was never really bad.

Give her a hug and tell we hope she is feeling better.

Blessings,
Krisann

Jenn - I had to have a small red spot removed from my face for a biopsy by a dermatologist about 3 years ago. He told me to keep neosporin on it and cover it with a bandaid and it would heal fine with no scar. I did that religously, but my face was so irritated and I was clearly having a reaction. I thought I was allergic to the bandaid...but it was the neosporin!!!   It looked like it was the bandaid because the neosporin would creep under the bandaid adhesive and then really agravate that area. Just mentioning it for you to file away in the "I hope we never have to do this again...but just in case" file.

Glad to hear that she is doing well and healing, though!
