Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Lisa, it's so good to hear that in the midst of this straining time you found a fun way to deal with a tantrum. I am picturing you wailing about on the floor with Rachel gobsmacked and laughing myself silly! Gee, mothers do some amazing things.
Continuing to pray!

++++FINAL UPDATE++++

Rachel had her appointment on Thursday with the plastic surgeon and he gave her the for anything she wanted! He said her palate looked great...NO FISTULAS!!! WOOHOO!! She just has a couple stitches left near the back of her palate that will disolve in a couple weeks at the most. Her lip looks great, too.

On Friday morning we gave her a sippy cup (a Nuby cup with a soft, nipple like spout) and she was so happy! She held onto it all day and would not let anyone take it from her. Bless her heart, she was so thrilled to be able to hold it herself. I was able to once again hold her while she drank some milk from it while she looked into my eyes. Just melted my heart.

Today I gave her blankie back to her at naptime. She had the biggest and started kicking her legs with excitement. So sweet.

Thank you all so very much for praying us through this. There were times I really didn't think I could do it. I know the Lord's grace, Mary's guidance and your prayers are what got us through. I could never thank you enough!

So wonderful to hear Lisa!! I can only imagine how joyous it must feel in a mother's heart, to be on the other end of this difficult journey. I went to your blog, and Rachel is just Beautiful, with a capital B! : )

Oh, Lisa!!! This is such joyful news and my mommy heart sings with you!!! What a sweet relief that she is healing well and you are able to give that beloved blankie back to her! Many, many prayers of thanksgiving and continued prayers that she continues to heal well.
