Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Praying here, big time, poor woman and her poor family, so very sad. May God bless them and keep them under his wing as they journey on their walk ahead. We will keep praying, thank you for the updates, though I want to bawl here reading them today. sniff, sniff.

My friend, Kristine Joseph (9-16-64 to 7-25-08), was born into eternal life this morning at 9:22AM. Thank you everyone for your prayers and kind words. Here is what I wrote after a visit with Kris on Saturday.

Yesterday afternoon I visited with Kris and her family in hospice at St. Mary's. Kris slept peacefully for all of the visit. She receives shots of morphine every three hours now. When I walked into the room, I was greeted warmly by Doug and the four beautiful faces of Kris' daughters. Little Talia, age 3, looked up at me with her halo of golden hair and announced, "Mommy's dying." Mariah, age 5, agreed. Alina, age 7, was holding Kris's hand and resting her cheek against it. Gigi, age 8, was holding Kris' other hand and crying softly. The scapular-relic was on Kris' pillow, along with a rosary. Another brown-cord rosary was around Kris' wrist (creating these cord rosaries was one of Kris' favorite hobbies).

The children had made signs for Kris and these were hung around the room. Gina, on blue paper with a crayon rainbow, had written: You'll love heaven. I love you Mom. Alina, on pink paper with plenty of glitter, had written: I love you. I will miss you when you die, Mom, very much. Counselors told Doug that children do not begin to understand the concept of death until age 7.

Doug and the girls left. Soon Kris's family came in the room (her brother, Kevin, has arrived from serving with the military in the middle east). Her sister and parents are back in Tucson. The family mentioned that others had visited with Kris in the morning. We shared some memories about Kris. She opened her eyes for just a few minutes.

The scapular-relic was enclosed with a beautiful notecard with this quote on the cover: All shall be for Him, all! And even when I have nothing to offer Him I will give Him that nothing. Saint Teresa Lisieux

I know your prayers continue and the family thanks you.

Eternal rest grant unto Kris, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

"I, Paul, am already being poured out like a libation, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have competed well; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith. From now on the crown of righteousness awaits me, which the Lord, the just judge, will award to me on that day, and not only me, but all who have longed for his appearance." 2 Timothy 4: 6-8

Love,

Love,

I'm *so* not good with words (much better with hugs)at these crossroads in life. So I'm going to echo Angie's words.

Oh, those beautiful children! We're fervently praying for her children and her husband, that they remember the blessing that she was and still is and that they don't become bitter that she's been called to a new life. Praying also that they manage to hold their lives together and that when they need help, the get it. Wish there was something we could physically do to help.

Victoria, we're praying for you as well. God will give you graces to manage your life and help them to manage theirs in this difficult time. If there is ANYTHING we can do from a distance besides pray (we're already doing that as fervently as possible), please don't hesitate to PM me.

Oh, my heart breaks for these children and her husband.

I'm praying for the repose of the soul of Kris, and for the comfort and healing peace of our Lord at this difficult time.

Her life was a testimony of virtue through these precious children!
