Not the Fourth of July weekend we hoped for. I've spent most of the last two days in bed. It seems when this over-40-year-old has a miscarriage the miscarriage takes a lot more out of me than I expected.
Today I developed a fever which the doctor thinks is a sinus infection given my sinus symptoms but I've been advised to watch for pelvic infection signs just to be safe. We were supposed to go to a dear friend's daughter's wedding today, but had to cancel at the last minute as I'm not up for the drive. I am so, so disappointed. My husband is at the store getting the antibiotic and my son's 12 year old birthday cake for tomorrow.
Could you please pray that I will be well enough to go to Mass tomorrow? I didn't go last week because of the ongoing miscarriage.

Oh, Patty. I am so, so, sorry. I will pray for you. I had a similar situation (minus the wedding) but I miscarried on July 3rd and my dd has a birthday on July 5th. I missed so many things I wanted to do with my family. But I had to take care of myself so I could be there for my family. Let yourself be nurtured.

Feeling the same way Patty. I'm having a rough time getting through my miscarriage as well...exhausted and feeling down. I'll be keeping you in my prayers as we get through this together.

Praying for all of you dear ladies who have recently miscarried. The physical and emotional healing can take longer than we might hope, and the difficulty is only increased by having it keep us from other, more joyful things in our lives. I'm so sorry for all of your sadnesses.

Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. I am feeling substantially better today. I slept through Mass again yesterday, but I am grateful I was able to rouse myself for my son's birthday celebration in the evening. The kids were so excited, saying, "Look, Mommy got dressed today!" 
I have an appt at the OB/GYN to have my hcg levels checked this morning after swim team practice is over, and then I'm coming back home to rest some more. We got a family Wii to celebrate my son's birthday (and my daughter's too, a couple of months early). I'll set that up this afternoon and watch the kids have fun. 
You all are so sweet. Thank you so much!
