Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Well, Leocea your youth is showing. At my age (44), I would have stayed put!

Wow, I know I'm getting into this post really late, but gee, 44 too old to nurse a baby    Say's who? I will be 43 next month and am still nursing my little girl who is an 18 month old toddler. I think it may be incredibly hard for many people to understand, not the least of which are OB/GYN's who really should know better, but women's bodies WERE made to do these marvelous things until God tells them, through the course of time, that HE is moving them on to another phase of life.

Hope everything has settled down for you since this post, Becky

I just wanted to step in here, too....
Last night I was at a meeting for Mothers of Many. Most of the ladies there last night had had 7 to 8 children, and a few had grandchildren. Two ladies' youngest children were 10 and these ladies were 57 years old. They look great and are so active and involved.
I found it very encouraging as my youngest (twin) boys are 2 1/2 and I'm 43. I know that I'm doing more than when I was younger - last night I didn't get home till 1:30am and I still got up and got breakfast and everyone going at the normal time. I would never have done that when I was younger! So I don't know if I have more energy now, or if I was just much lazier and less disciplined then!

I so agree with you here! I remember after we had our first, the sleep deprivation was so hard on me - and I was only in my middle 20's! I honestly couldn't get used to not sleeping through the night! Somewhere along the way, that changed, and I know that I definitely do so much more now than I did in my 20's or even early 30's, and I still manage. I had my youngest at 41 (she is now 18 months old) and I remember feeling tired during that pregnancy, but quite honestly, I was homeschooling 4 older dc, hiking every evening with my oldest dc (a teen), driving the kids back and forth to activities, and was just constantly on the go. I was also still nursing a toddler during most of that pregnancy, too. I cannot in my wildest dreams imagine myself doing that as a younger woman! I just never seemed to have the energy
