Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does the Flylady ever talk about yard work?

And what about attics, garages etc? It seems to me that those would be hard to handle in 15 mins.

You would work on a garage or attic for 10 or 15 minutes here and there (at least once a day), over the course of at least a week, or perhaps more if necessary. This may seem like a small snippet of time, but sometimes half the battle in a huge clear out is just getting started, and the short time periods make the whole prospect seem so much less daunting.

Flylady also sends a daily reminder that you do a 5 minute room rescue. She advises that you spend 5 minutes each and every day in the worst room of your house, with the promise that you will have it under control in 27 days! I do not know if such short snatches of time would work for a garage or a yard, but it is certainly worth a shot.

It worked for me! -- sort of. Our garage was the worst ever -- I hadn't really done anything with it for about 5 years. My dh's workshop is out there and all his car repair and house repair stuff. You get the picture. All summer I'd grab 15 minutes here and there and just putter around straightening, thinking, sweeping, little jobs.   Then one day I looked around at the rest of it and realized that the "dragon" wasn't so big anymore, I could kill it! I spent about 3 hours and plowed through and now it's decent, not spectacular, but it's definitely under control.   I can keep it up with the 10-15 minutes and do the fine tuning.

Now I'm tackling our books. I hardly know where to start but I know if I start somewhere and work at it in little bits, I'll get somewhere eventually.

Willa,

I'm tackling books, too. I have so many that my kids can't get to what we have. It's so hard to get rid of books that I'm emotionally attached to, I might need for another kid's curriculum, etc, etc.

On to find more books to cart to the local used book store (or to the library if the book store won't take them!) -
