Hi Donna,

I wanted to let you know that I'm so pleased with "Better Spelling in 5 Minutes" a day. Our oldest dc (11 1/2) is an auditory learner and does not spell very well. This book has 16 chapters which emphasize all the "biggies" in terms of rules - i before e, for example. There's a little memory aid to go along with each rule. The 1st one is
"i" before "e" like "believe",
Except after "c" like "receive",
Or sounding like ay, as in "neighbor" or "sleigh",
Where "e" before "i" is the way.

The book has lots of activities but we just work on the lists. The 1st rule actually has many exceptions, so we work on those too.

It's a good book to use in 4th grade I'd say, or remedially in the later years.
