Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Elizabeth,

I am truly sorry for your family. We will be praying for peace and comfort for all of you. I do hope Nicholas is feeling much better soon.
May Giles rest in eternal peace.

Update: Now everybody--absolutely everybody--is wheezing. Michael sustained a concussion yesterday at soccer. Dh leaves tomorrow to go to Florida to settle Giles' estate. He'll be back at the end of the week, work through the weekend, and then the two of us fly to Detroit for the funeral. Mike's family is originally from Michigan and his grandparents and uncles are buried there. Since Giles never married, the funeral will be in the same church where Mike's parents were married and he'll be buried with his grandparents.

Just an aside: Why is it that every time I make flight reservations, all my children start wheezing ?

Mike's parents are heartbroken. Please storm heaven for them.

Thanks for your continued prayers.

I am so sorry Elizabeth. I will continue to hold your family up in prayer. I hope that your family feels better soon and that you have a safe trip to Detroit.
I feel so sad for your dh's parents. I saw how hard it was for my Grandma to lose her sons in her old age.

Continuing to pray -- for all the sick ones, for an "easy" week, for safe flights, and for Giles' soul and peace for his parents and all.

Elizabeth,
Somehow I missed this until now. I'm so sorry about Giles. You and Mike and the children will be in in my prayers, as will Giles and your in-laws. And having to deal with sickness on top of the grief just makes it that much harder. Hang in there, sweetie, we're thinking of you.

Please keep praying. My husband is utterly exhausted. After breaking the news to his parents, he stayed with them a couple of days and then left to settle Giles' things in Florida. He didn't finish before flying to Denver to work for the weekend. I spent the weekend toatlly wiped out by whatever virus hit the kids last week. Then he flew home Sunday night and we took at 6AM flight to Detroit for the funeralMonday morning. We got back around midnight last night. He didn't finish at Giles' and he has to have everything out by the end of the month so he planned to fly back down there tomorrow morning. But that flight was cancelled so he's flying tonight. But he can't fly into Orlando because everybody and their brother who can't get into the airports closed due to hurricane is flying into Orlando. So...he's flying late tonight into Tampa and then driving two hours so he can work like a dog until Friday morning, fly home and drive Michael to Virginia Beach for the Va State Cup. He's beyond tired. Please pray for his safety.

Elizabeth,
I will pray. I am very sorry about Giles and that this has taken such a toll on your family. I will pray for Mike's safety and then for some downtime for you all to re-group together.

Hope things are going smoothly for your husband today and that he is getting things wrapped up. Will you be in VA Beach this weekend with dh and Michael for the soccer state cup?
