Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Paula,

Praying for a holy woman to come into your life. Think Saints here, begging St Theresa of Avila for an amazing wise woman to come into your life.

God can move major mountains. Tell yourself that this is temporary, (even when your mind says it isn't) you just keep on saying it is a season, you can do anything for a short time right? Philippians 4 says:
"12 I know both how to be brought low, and I know how to abound: (everywhere, and in all things I am instructed) both to be full, and to be hungry; both to abound, and to suffer need. 13 I can do all these things in him who strengtheneth me." Philippians 4:12,13 Douay Rheims

When things crash around me hard, I read Philippians over and over.

"6 Be nothing solicitous; but in every thing, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your petitions be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasseth all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. 8 For the rest, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever modest, whatsoever just, whatsoever holy, whatsoever lovely, whatsoever of good fame, if there be any virtue, if any praise of discipline, think on these things." Philippians 4:6-8 Douay Rheims

Paula,
I am praying for you, so hard!! I will be starting a rosary novena, tomorrow, and I will definitely include all of your intentions.
2001 was a year of continuous trials for me, and I could not have gotten through it without the Psalms.
I pray I could do more.

God Bless,
Stacy in MI

Paula, sending warm hugs your way, a shoulder to lean on and plenty of prayers.

When our daughter's husband left her, and there were incredible issues with the joint custody they both chose to have, she found incredible solace and strength from pastoral counseling, a professional service offered in our diocese. First her work provided their own counseling service and it was more destructive to her mental thoughts than helpful, forming bitter attitudes and an emotional block so thick, she shut out everyone in her life while trying to deal with it. The pastoral counseling was so healthy, great advice from a Catholic viewpoint, and incredibly healing, that is over time. Would you have such a service in your diocese to tap into? Or perhaps you could obtain a spiritual advisor locally at a monastery or ?? and see him weekly? Just thought, feel free to shrug off if necessary. You are in my prayers.
