Dh heard today that this lady has apparently decided to abort the baby. It is due to happen Friday.

It is terribly sad, especially as it appeared that the lady didn't want to go down this route, but has probably been pressurised by some of the other medical staff. Far from offering 'informed choice', the obstetricians wanted to tell the patient that she would *definitely* die if she continued with the pregnancy. (In fact the risk of death is 30 to 50%. Still awful, but not 100%.) They even told her that 'If you continue with the pregnancy, there's a risk to you *and* your baby.' )

We can still pray for a miracle!

Yeah, like abortion is not a risk to the baby.
I find it very difficult to understand this kind of reasoning.

That said it is an awfull situation for everyone involved.
I will pray for this woman.
