So many big and little things are going wrong here, but mostly it's postpartum anxiety and depression that is rearing it's ugly head. I'm able to pull myself together to go out so people don't know how bad it is. I'm even happy in those rare moments I'm out with a friend. Otherwise, it's one problem after another here at home.
I just can't seem to take any more. The children are so unhappy, my dh is unhappy. All the while I'm trying my hardest to hide how I feel and fake being a good wife and mom, and yet it's still not enough. I feel horrible that I feel like the only mom who thinks she never should have had all these kids. I don't know how to deal with them all.
I refuse to take medication because of all the people I know who are unable to wean themselves off their anti-depressants. Weaning the baby helps me a bit usually but it's not an easy answer for many reasons. I just feel so desperate for the prayers of everyone here. The home page of this forum says "Expect a miracle." I need a miracle!

Lots of hugs.........and please know that you are not alone. Some of us have had days, nights, weeks, months or years like that. We will hold you in prayer..........stay close to our Lady, and try to get at least one Rosary a day in, even if it is by yourself.
Please let us know any time you need some extra prayer, like you did today.

I feel soo overwhelmed with things right now too!!...I am 23 weeks pregnant with #8...the kids are overwhelming me, the bills are overwhelming me and this difficult pregnancy is overwhelming me. ..and that is just for starters! I wonder what God was thinking giving me so many to care for..their educational "issues" that I worry about and the lazy habits some of them try to get into when I am weak and down and can't stay on top of them 24/7. But! I KNOW GOD knows all of this. I KNOW that He WILL make good come of this. I have a hard time believing in that at times, but I still know it will be ok in the end...but that end may take awhile to get here. and I keep plugging away in ways that I feel are inadequate but I know that they count heaps to God and I beg him to make up the difference.
I especially talk to St. Anne...she has been an amazing advocate for me. On my blog I do have a novena to her and I feel so close to her since I started to share my troubles with her. The grandmother of God is a wonderful intercessor for mothers!
I KNOW I will eventually get through this. I keep repeating the 23rd psalm over and over to myself and it helps some. I keep picturing the stained glass image of The Good Shepherd that we have in our church. I try and imagine that I am that lamb he is carrying and try and let Him take the burden for awhile...easier said than done...but it sure does help. Sometimes I just try to imagine His hand on His staff...He looks so strong, and I know I am not. As co-incidence would have it, I went to Home Depot with dh one night and we needed a new pole for a push broom. I carried that thing around with me for some time and boy! did my hand ache after awhile. When I think of that image of the Good Shepherd, I can understand even better now that I can rely on His kind of strength even though I don't understand what is happening to me.
I hope you don't mind this long-winded post from this insomniac. I KNOW where you are...I have been there and I am there in some ways right now. I will offer up my sufferings for you. I pray that you will experience peace and relief. Please know that you are loved...by a complete stranger that doesn't even know your name! If you want my phone# PM me.
