Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can you not go into Emergency? I cannot believe they are making you wait?

Lots of prayers.

UPDATE: Now I'm having some bleeding (not much, but STILL).    I called back, and the doctor on call told me that everything is "probably fine" (since we saw a good heartbeat at 7weeks) and to just keep my appt. on Monday and see how things are then. He did say to call back if I start cramping and/or bleeding heavily. My husband is a radiologist and he would sneak me in and do an ultrasound himself, except that, what do we do with our six children here at home? My usual babysitter couldn't come over tonight for us to go in under the radar.

So, I've had a good cry and feel ready to take whatever is in store for us, as long as God helps me through it, which he will. I have been so in awe of how some of you other ladies have handled recent losses, and I am hoping to bear this half as gracefully. I am feeling supernaturally peaceful, and I am sure it is the prayers that have gone up on our behalf. Thank you so much!

Update again, thanks for praying!

We were able to make some arrangements and Dh was able to sneak me in late last night. There is no heartbeat. Baby was so sweet looking but so still.

Unfortunately, I have to go to a Girl Scout afternoon camp-out this afternoon - we're just going to build fires, make S'Mores, and sing songs. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm the only leader that's going to be present from our troop and it will probably be less strenuous than caring for my wild bunch here at home. We're not doing any hiking or anything, I think it will be nice to get out of the house and into nature actually. I will be able to leave if that becomes necessary, but right now my symptoms are mild with just off and on spotting.

Please pray for my inner strength (I have to still function), and for our circumstances. My husband is working all weekend, we have to get my 10yo to BS camp tomorrow out of town, husband is working all week of course, and can't get off. When I have to go to the doctor I have no one to watch my kids yet, much less if I had to go to the ER or something. We're also supposed to leave town next weekend for a cross country drive to visit family for three weeks.

If anyone has any advice about going natural or a D&C, please let me know. I'm worried about how this is going to play out either way - but I don't have strong feelings about a preference on this yet.

I was going to wait until my official appointment on Monday to update you all, but I wanted you to know since you've all been praying hard. God is helping me through this, and I am so thankful that he gave me that "feeling" that something was wrong, so that we weren't shocked at a later time. Despite the business of our lives and the fact that arrangements are completely up in the air, I am at peace. Your prayers are being felt and are so dear to me! Thank you so much!

Oh Marianne, I'm so sorry for your loss.    I've been thinking of you and offering up for you all day today, and I'll continue offering up now that I know your sad news.

A word on the delivery. I've never had a D&C, but I have naturally delivered two children whose souls had already gone to heaven. I want to be very careful how I characterize the experience because I know that sometimes a natural delivery is simply not an option medically. Many here have undergone D&C's so could speak better to that than I. If you can, I'd opt for the natural delivery route both for your body and for the peace it affords in delivering your tiny one. There is tremendous peace in a burial of the little body. Pain, but much peace, especially for the brothers and sisters left behind. This is just my experience, and I in no way intend to, or want to diminish the dignity of any delivery of a child of God.

It sounds as if your family is very busy right now. Take time to allow your sweet mother's heart to grieve, Marianne. I am praying and offering up for you.
