Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I keep walking by messes, even after deep, deep cleaning on Saturdays (our house is always trashed in a night) and I just feel resentment building all day.

So, I thought maybe I am being selfish for down time of my own on Sundays and I should forget about rest and just do more serving for the family as one option?

These two sentences that Kim wrote are what I struggle with the most.

The messes. Just the nature of having a day "out of the ordinary" combined with a daddy having fun with dc creates utter chaos. And, the residual from getting to Mass in the AM.   I just can't keep up with it.

And the question about feeling resentful b/c I can't get a minute to myself. Way more than even during the week. At least during the week, there are some lulls in the day. On Sundays, we are lull-free .

The little things I'd like to do on sundays NEVER happen. It happens during the WEEK , but NOT on Sundays. So, it's not like I don't GET this time EVER.....it's just that it doesn't happen on Sundays. So, I guess I have just decided that this is a day to serve my family and someday I'll have lots of relaxing Sundays.

Nope....Sundays are definitely NOT my best day.

Saturday evenings, I try to remember to pray for a halfway-joyful heart for the next day.
