Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ah, Chris... I think it's only natural to cry at Mass. when you really think about what is happening.

One morning our priest came over to tell me something after Mass and it was embarrasssing... I held my head down and didn't make eye contact. He probably thought I was being standoffish, when I really just didn't want him to see my teary eyes.

Are you more emotional in general? Like do you have mood swings or flashes of irritability along with the teariness? That might indicate a slight hormone imbalance. If you feel like it's complicating your life you might want to get your hormones checked.

Thank you, Sue, for your insight. I actually have been having a nagging feeling that I need to get a complete physical soon. I am such a procrastinator when it comes to my own healthcare that it's been way too long. I wouldn't be surprised if some kind of hormonal problem is the culprit for some of my issues lately. Also, allergies, fatigue, stress... you get the picture.
I just know when I get completely checked out, it will most likely require some significant life and dietary changes and that is why I keep putting it off... a vicious cycle. Tomorrow is my day to start scheduling appointments. Please say a prayer I don't put it off (again!) Thanks!

I have also noticed that I cry very easily and often. I even cry listening to catholic radio! I can hardly have a personal conversation with another without my eyes welling up. I am tired, but it can't be that alone. I am still 45 with somewhat regular cycles. I do think it has something to do with my Faith. The deeper I go, the more wounds (mine and others') I see, feel. I do feel very vulnerable sometimes.
