This prayer request was for me and my family.
First of all, thank you, Maria, for posting all of this with such care. I am deeply grateful to you for your love and support through all of this.
Secondly, my heartfelt thanks go out to each and every one of you who have prayed for us (and not just for this request, but for all the times I've asked for prayer for my husband since he lost his job in Nov. '06). Your prayers have been most efficacious!! It has been a whirlwind time for us in the past month.
And we are moving!! Because dh got the job!
As with everything in the Lord, it's not without its cost. But I know the most important thing right now is to trust Him - with each step, with each detail.
Oh, and I'm sure there will be more prayer requests for those things as we go through all of this.
Thank you all again. You are a faithful group of women.
Now, to figure out ~where~ to post questions about moving cross-country......

Tami,
I am so very happy for you! I know this has been such a hard time for your family. How exciting to be heading out West! (and a little scary, I'm sure.) You will have our prayers throughout it all!

We did this two years ago, I was 8 months along with #7, all of my dc were under 8. We moved to a place, we'd never even seen before... It was a major step of faith, but we could see we didn't have any other choice.
My worst fear about it, was that we would forget a detail.. Or not know something and then it would "bite us". This did happen anyway, despite all my planning! But we lived. It was a bummer, but we lived.
My best advice is find a local homeschooling support group, hopefully by internet, and ask lots of questions. I did that and learned a lot of anecdotal things about the area, it was helpful. And it helped me to hear from people who love where they've made their home.
Hugs and Prayers!

Janette and Anne, thank you for your encouragement (and I've been praying for you, Anne, and your health).
Irene and Molly, you two have been soooo helpful - going out of your way to go to bat for dh during this time. He's keenly aware of (and grateful for) the support and encouragement he's received from you both, and this board.
Paula, thank you, especially with all that you've got going on. My heart's been breaking along with yours. I'm touched that I could be anywhere on your radar during this difficult time.
And Jennifer, "Early American Attic" at least sounds like it can't get any worse once my boys arrive there!
Rebecca, thanks for sharing your advice (and on the moving thread, too). I'm praying I find hs'ers -- so far the local Catholic group doesn't seem to have anyone near us! More trust for me, but esp. for my boys....
Wendy and Angie, thanks for your continued prayers. We really need them as we work through all the tedious details.
And Cay, wish I could raise a toast with you, in person! I could really use a drink right now! I have to work at treating this like an adventure, esp. for the sake of the children. Everyone is feeling the pangs right now of leaving . I think it will be much easier just to get there. The anticipation of saying good-bye is weighs pretty heavily around here, at different moments.
Thanks again to all of you. Now, off to pack and purge some more..........!

Thank you, Donna. It is good news - thanks for reminding me about that - I'm finding much of this so overwhelming.
