I was able to get an update on Laura and the babies this afternoon. The babies are apparently doing well - their heartbeats are right where they should be, etc. The baby girl is apparently lying on top of the placenta that is the source of the bleeding. Perhaps praying that she might move would bring some abatement to the bleeding?? Laura's blood count is very low, so they are keeping her overnight for observation. It was not clear to what extent the bleeding has been controlled at this point - it does seem as if it has slowed down, however, it slowed down yesterday at this time only to get worse as morning came. The Dr. has said that if the babies could stay inside for another few weeks even, that would be very ideal! I will continue to keep you all posted and thank you so much for your prayers! I told her mom that you all were praying, and she began to cry....these twins are the only grandchildren so far.

I had placenta previa with my 2nd pregnancy - no fun! Storming heaven that these little ones can stay inside the womb longer, and that Laura recovers.

Hi Everyone,

I have another update on my friend with placenta previa. She has been in and out of the hospital the last 48 hrs. or so. The babies still look fine, but they are concerned about my friend having lost a lot of blood and the complications for her. The hospital refuses to keep her in-patient because she is barely 21 weeks along, so the babies are viewed as "not viable". Please continue to pray for Laura and her twins, that the bleeding will stop with the strict bed rest and that they will all make it to at least the 24 week mark (May 31st). In addition, prayers for peace would also be helpful. She is so worried, of course, about the babies.....

Thank you ALL so much and I will continue to update you as I can!

Oh, Tea! Life is so tenuous to begin with and the hospital won't allow in-house tratment because the babies are not VIABLE? From conception, everyone is viable!

This calls for a reflection on the Joyful Mysteries as we recite our rosary tonight. We'll continue rosaries for Laura and her babies until our prayers are answered one way or another.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to let you all know that I just heard from Laura, and her blood count had gotten dangerously low this morning, so she needed a transfusion. Please pray that her blood count will stay high at this point, the bleeding stop completely, and that those babies will be able to stay put as long as possible (it will be only 22 weeks this Sat., 5/17).
