Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We finished up home improvements projects today!!! Well, except for painting. And the clean up. And moving the furniture back in. Ok, ok! So we are not really done but the contractor is gone and the house is all mine again! Woo hoo!

We also had the most beautiful weekend weather... so beautiful that I am quite willing to forgive the humidity that crashed the party today!

Well, let's see - it was a big let down weekend here. My 16 yr. old who is in high school plays varsity baseball. They were the number 3 seed going into their playoff tournament and lost to the number 30 seed so were eliminated. In the 6 years we've been with the team through our two sons this is the earliest in the playoff season they've ever been done - it's a kind of empty feeling. We had expected to be going at least another week.

On a lighter note. My husband won tickets to the Broadway production of A Chorus Line which is playing here. We never do anything like that so was kind of a treat - though I'd never seen Chorus Line before and found it not so wholesome (which I sort of expected). I was amazed to see the yong children there with their parents - not appropriate.

I hung out lots of laundry (which I love).

The kids and dh began work on the treehouse!

The snow melted quickly (again!)

Another First Holy Communion here too! And a little party afterwards.

Today we started our new school year, teaching three kids for the first time. Wow. I'm feeling LOL.

I know it's kind of an odd time to start a new school year, but we have a yearly review, and I always consider the time after that to be "our new year". Maybe I should put the review off until August next time.
