Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here is what my girls are wearing for summer water fun. Target had 3 piece skirt, and bikini top/bottom. I pitched the top and bought a rash guard shirt and they are wearing the bottoms (we call it underwear because that is what bikinis are IMO) and the skirt.

My daughter has a tank suit with that very skirt, with a rash guard on top too.

Just a side note on the tshirt issue...tshirts are very very heavy in the water. Wearing one could make a decent swimmer have a rough time...so that could be a safety issue if the kids are younger and there is a deep end.

Well, that's got your littles taken care of for $12.99! Too bad they don't have an easier option for the bigger kids!!!

I read this thread back in May not realizing immodest swimsuits would be a problem for us mainly because we didn't have a pool at the time.

Now we have one of those 15' ring pools and with a visiting 18 year old niece, her "fiance", and their friends it's necessary to implement some rules.

My children were so uncomfortable by the rearend cheeks showing and sexual behavior they got out the pool, but then there was the show to watch. Also, the combination of less clothes and playing/wrestling in the water there was too much inappropriate touching between the teenagers.

We all had a talk about modesty and now I have to make sure everyone that comes over expecting to swim, understands we also have expectations....in their dress (and behavior).

BTW, for the families who have implemented the pool rules, especially 1st timer, any updates? how has it gone over with your visitors?

Well, we haven't had company yet to swim; but we will this weekend. I will try to remember to post. I am going to send my swimsuit rule by e-mail in hopes that they'll "get over it" by the time they arrive!

Excellent way to handle email or snail mail invitations!

We had our party, and it rained; so nobody went swimming. However, I had put the "modest swimwear" notice out via e-mail to our guest prior to the party, and I got a joking comment via e-mail about 'not wearing her thong bikini.'   Of course, I used that comment to stress the point of modest swimwear is the only swimwear allowed at our pool. So, whatever feelings she initially had were handled independent of my presence.      And, the rule has been established for any upcoming swims.

We must stand up for what's best for our families and our beliefs, and we shall be blessed!

Blessings to you,
