Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Honestly, I had to look up CM. Wow! I like her. I have incorporated some of her philosophy naturally and am absolutely eclectic. Thank you for the welcome. I am overwhelmed with the volume of content and interesting topics of discussion in this group. I think I will be "quiet" for a little while as I get to know you all. I must say "Wow" again.

Hi, my name is Debbie..mom to 3 wonderful kids..ds age 8, ds age 5 and dd age 3. I am "officially" homeschooling my oldest ds and my other younger son will officially be homeschool K in the fall. Of course the 3yo tags along for it all. I am not catholic as of yet but my DH is and we are trying our best to bring our children up in the catholic faith.

I have lurked off and on here for a while and decided to join today. I hope to learn lots from you all here. I do have Elizabeth's book and am slowly reading my way through it and so far I LOVE IT.

Not sure how much I will post here but hopefully will be able to keep up with all the great posts. Thanks for having me.

Debbie

Hi, I am Angi, mom to MaryRose (5 homeschooled), Rita (will be 4 in July), Cecilia (will be 2 in June) and Anastasia (will also be 2 in June ). I have a Master's Degree collecting dust in Special Ed, so I may be of some help if anyone has any ??s. My specialty was Autism. Let's see, what else, I am a convert (Easter 94) and so is dh (Christmas 97 so he would be Catholic for our wedding 2 weeks later).

I enjoy reading here, but can rarely post since I seem to be ALWAYS nursing at least 1 of the twins.

Thanks for all of the great info.

I finally have time to introduce myself- I hope this is how I am supposed to do it- lol. I am a 25 yr old SAHM to a 3 yo ds Isaiah and a 11 week old dd Rosemary. We are going to homeschool- er- I guess we already do! I am very partial to Montessori, but I also love Mason and John Holt. Dh, me, and the 2 kids live in a big old rambling arts and crafts style home about 90 yrs old. It's, uh, beautiful but rustic, to say the least. We are, however, a stone's throw from the parrish church with perpetual adoration and 2 daily Masses- but guess how often I get there? NOT so often- LOL.
Forum legend Dawnie is my bf irl, and she got me reading Real Learning and into'd me to these boards. Ironically, I have what St Therese called "audacious confidence" when it comes to homeschooling. I love books, reading, crafts, spending time outdoors, math games- those things ALWAYS GET DONE!!! It's all the cooking and cleaning and sticking to the budget that is rough for me. I'm really glad to be here.
My username isn't supposed to be controversial- LOL- it is my real nickname, as my full name is Maureen Alisa, often shortened by my mom to monalisa.

Hi everybody! I've been lurking for several months and have learned so much here. We live in a small town in the hills of western Maryland with one sweet kidlet, John, who will be two in May, and another due in August. DH and I want to give them (and any others God sends us) the Catholic upbringing we never had, and we've been struggling to figure out how to do that.

You are literally an answer to prayer. "Please, God, help me find some homeschooling moms who live their faith through their families," I kept begging... and then I found this board! Thank you for the inspiration, the encouragement, and the many ideas you've already given me.

I'm both excited about homeschooling and scared to death. But my files are growing fat with printouts from this site and your blogs -- they’re helping fuel the excitement and calm the fear.

God bless all of you!

Amy

Welcome Amy! This board has been an answer to my prayers, also. You are in good company!

Hi. I've been referred here by a blogger and use the blogs as an informal support system. Catholic women, with adoptive children, large families, parents who believe what I do and share the same feelings and issues. I don't home school but I am fascinated by it and enjoy reading all your blogs about how you are bringing catechism into your homes.

Here is my intro: I am married to my wonderful husband Kevin. We will celebrate 10 years this October 11. We live in Northeast Ohio near Lake Erie.   We have four adopted children thru the public system: a boy 16; a boy 15; a girl 8 and a girl 6 1/2. All of the older ones came to us a little older: the boys were 3 1/2 and 2; the older girl was 6 1/2. The three oldest are a sibling group of half brothers/sisters, same birthmom. Our youngest is our only "from scratch" child who was two days old when she arrived. They were all foster children that we adopted. We are hoping for another child and truly believe God has more planned for us, we're just waiting to see where it comes from

I enjoy spending time at home with my kids, reading (mostly Catholic books on saints, Mary, etc.), antiquing, biking, gardening, cooking and baking. Looking forward to getting to know you all better.

Hello,

My name is Divinagrace (or Divina for short). I am 34 years old with a 4 yo son and a 15 month old daughter. I've been married 5 1/2 years.

I've been looking at the Real Learning blogs since late December 2006 and just started a blog about a month ago. My first blog entry is basically a dedication page to all of YOU who have made home education a real possibility for me. Please come visit and read this entry first!

http://divinagrace.blogspot.com/2007/03/hope-and-inspiration .html

I have learned so much from everybody and am so happy that I discovered this group ... Catholic, living out your faith, home educating, Charlotte Mason, etc. You all are like an answered prayer.

Thank you!
Divina :o)
