My name is Rose, my username is a nickname from my sisters-in-law. They like to call me Mari Rose. I have been married to my husband for 5 years (celebrated our anniversary on October 6!) and we have two beautiful daughters, DD1 born 5/29/03 and DD2 born 5/31/05. We had a miscarriage inbetween the two and recently discovered that we are expecting again!
I discovered this site after I stumbled upon a Catholic mother's blog when searching for crafts to do with the Activity Group that DD1 goes to.
I am not sure if I will homeschool or not, but I know I want to do some things at home, and I know I'll be inspired by this wonderful group of women!
I enjoy reading, knitting, listening to talk radio (Laura Ingraham is my favorite), politics, and cooking. I love to spend time in the kitchen with good friends.

Hi,
My name is Becky. My dh and I with our 9 children live and learn in Oregon. I've been homeschooling my children since my eldest was in preschool. We used to use MODG with a lot of CM tweaking, then AO with a bit of Catholic tweaking. Actually, we've switched around quite a bit, because I've never found anything that's just right for us. I think the time we enjoyed the most was when I used Elizabeth's Colonial study, and then did western expansion using her methods. Right now, we have a new babe in our house (our miracle born when I was 46 years old!), so my kids are enjoying the freedom to pick topics from the real learning book lists to read independently. I enjoy reading, cooking, nature study, teatime, homemaking, and quiet visits before the Blessed Sacrament when I can.

Hi,
My name is Liz. My husband and I have 4 children; twin girls 8yo, son 6yo, and son 5yo. We are moving cross country from Iowa to North Carolina soon (oh, please, let us sell this house soon)! The girls are presently in Catholic school but we are planning to homeschool when we move. Actually, they want to start now, but I am unsure since I am alone with the children until our house sells, while DH is in NC--we are starting our 5th week apart today.
I was introduced to this list by a TORCH contact in NC, and I am so glad!! I have learned so much already from all of you, and am delighted to be in the company of so many women with such deep Cathloic faith.
While I had planned to but a curriculum from CHC, I am leaning more towards the CM way...it seems very natural, as opposed to the "15 worksheets a day" style the girls have had the last 3 years at school. I don't want to condemn our school-they are doing a good job--but I feel that they are watering down the faith in order to "not offend" prospective new families.
I am looking forwared to joning and making friends while I learn more fully how to instill real learning and Catholic teachings in my children.

Hello. My name is Jennifer. I am a homeschooling mom to six children ages 1-9. DH and I have been doing this for two years, and we are definitely a work in progress. We have one girl(our oldest) and five very energetic boys. Our two oldest ateended our local parochial school and our third oldest attended preschool. I was finally able to convince my husband(with a lot of prayer and help from the Holy Spirit) to homeschool, and we have been loving it ever since. We are enrolled in Seton right now, but I have been doing so much reading about a living books approach. I am so excited to plan for next year, while implementing what I can right now. We do nature walks, and the kids LOVE it, and I am a much happier and enjoyable mom/teacher.
Please excuse my typing, as I think faster than I can type, and I am not very accurate with the keys!

Hi. I'm Suzanne and I live with my dh and dc in Northern Virginia. I have been a lurker for a number of months now and have learned so much from all of you ladies on this board... thank you!
I have 3 dc - ds5, dd3 and ds6wks. Ds5 is going to a private kindergarten since I felt like I couldn't work with him very much having a newborn at the end of Sept. I usually have a difficult time postpartum (long story). However, I've been seeing a lot of behavior problems since putting him in school, things I hadn't seen before and am convinced that I need to take him out in January. So, here I am, with a load of questions which I will be asking in future posts

Hello everyone
I'm Cleo, from Montreal, Canada. I'm a French Canadian, homeschooling our two kids primarily in French. My son is 9yo, and my daughter is 6. They have never been to school although my son did go to daycare when he was 3-4yo (and what a disaster that was...)

Hi,
My name is Ruth. I live in Virginia. My husband and have been married for 18 years. We have 4 girls ages 18, 12, 10, 4, and 2 boys, 6 and 8. We have been homeschooling for 10 years. I'm using Seton, but my 10th grader has been struggling for 2 years. I need lots of help encouraging my younger children to read more and write. You all have such great advice. I hope to keep learning more from you.

Hi!
My name is Waverley. I'm a recovering lawyer now at home with our four children: dd - 13, dd - 8, dd - 5 and ds - 3. My husband and I have been married 16 years and we are both originally from Mississippi. We currently live in Minnesota.
The boundaries of our family are constantly changing in that we are foster parents and frequently have little ones staying with us. Our youngest two dc came to live with us as foster children but are now permanent members of our family through adoption.
I found your forum when I heard about The Catholic Mosaic on the Five in a Row (FIAR) boards. I have purchased The Catholic Mosaic to use beginning this upcoming liturgicacl year and can't wait!
I feel very fortunate to have found these boards and look forward to learning from your wisdom.

Hi Everyone!
My name is Ryane and I am a stay at home mother with one son who is almost two. With many prayers to St. Gerard, we have been trying to conceive #2. We live in Central New York.
I found this board in a round-about sort of way that led me from the wonderful blog of Danielle Bean to the equally wonderful blogs of Elizabeth, Lissa and Alice. Since I have been lurking on this board, I have learned so much and consider this board, all of your blogs and Elizabeth's book (which I just finished) AMAZING resources. So, thanks!

My name is Melissa and I'm new here. DH and I have three kids so far ages 5, 4 and 10 months. I started reading several new blogs through the Catholic Carnival of Homeschooling and my favorite ones have this board in common so here I am  !! Hello, I am new to any board and have been enjoying this board from afar.... so, now I am taking the plundge and introducing myself.
I am a homeschool mom of three children.
I have a 9 year old daughter, a seven year old son and a five year old son.
We have been homeschooling for two years now and really love it.

Hello.
My name is Holly. We have 5 children plus one in heaven. Tara is 7, my twins Nadia and Joshua are 5, Tegan is 2 and Keara is 4 months. I am an eclectic homeschooler, who likes the Well Trained Mind, Sonlight and bits and pieces from MODG. My four girls are healthy and my son appears healthy but he had a kidney transplant 14 months after birth. He is doing fine now but has 50% hearing loss, and just had another surgery to fix some leftover problems. I have him in Kindergarten light but his twin is about done with Kindergarten. Tara was struggling through second grade stuff but is doing much better in more first grade material and I am very exhausted.

Hello everyone,
My name is Nissa. I'm the mother of six wonderful children here on Earth and two more in Heaven. My husband Brian and I have been homeschooling our children for 10 years and we've been completely family centered for just over a year now. We live in Central Massachusetts. We have a family-owned business that sustains us and provides myriad learning opportunities.
Our approach to home education is Charlotte Mason withing a Classical context. It seems the perfect fit for a big, busy family.
I know so many of the gals here from MO and other lists. I'm here for some serious inspiration. After 10 years, I've got stuck in a rut and can see boredom lurking around the corner.

Hi I'm Mary
I'm a new wife and mom. My first baby is 8 months old and she is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I've been reading these boards for about 2 months and find alot of beauty and wisdom here -- esp. for me just starting out on this whole wonderful challenging life of motherhood! I found this Forum from Elizabeth Foss's blog, whose articles I have enjoyed in the Arlington Herald for a couple of years. It's a priviledge to have found this warm community.

Although I've been reading this forum for quite a long time, I've never introduced myself. I'm Janet married to Tim and we're the parents of 5 dauthers, 17, 15, 9, and 6 (twins). This is our 11th year of homeschooling. This is usually the first place I come to find answers - someone else has usually already asked the same question. I am amazed at the creativity that I find here. I tend to be more of a listener than talker but might find something to add on occasion.

Hello everyone!
My name is Paula and I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. I live in East Central Minnesota (20 degrees outside right now). I am on my 2nd year of homeschooling my 7yo daughter and my 4yo son. Last year we tried a lot of different styles, and this year are much more comfortable with a combination of CHC, Charlotte Mason, and Real Learning, which is how I found this forum.
This is my first time joining ANYTHING online, so if I ask any "silly" questions, I'm still learning.
I am becoming quite a fan of all of you wonderful ladies and your ideas, and I sure hope I can add some.

Hello all!
My name is Lindsey. I live in North Carolina with my hubby of 8 years and three precious children. We homeschool our daughter who is in 1st grade, and we have a 4 & 3 year old as well.
We are not Catholic. I don't know "what" we are. I attend an evangelical baptist church that I love, but I've been on a huge faith journey lately. We love our church but we desperately crave more tradition in our life and home. There are many things about the doctrine of the Baptist church I don't agree with.
I've recently begun teaching the liturgical year at home. It is so foreign to anything I've ever done. I found your forums via Dawn (by sun and candlelight blog) and it has really helped me glean ideas. We homeschool through a Charlotte Mason style so this is such a good fit for us!
Anyhow, I look forward to learning more. More about school, faith, and so on.
(and by the way, as a disclaimer...I realize that sometimes there are tensions between catholics and evangelicals, but I promise I'm here to glean and learn, not cause trouble!!! :)

Hi I'm Barb, married for 17 years, mom to 6, ages 14 to 3. We have always homeschooled and I've been lurking here :) and loving what I see.....now if only I had more time! We live in eastern Colorado and enjoy the outdoors. I enjoy reading and gardening and homeschooling and family. We are cradle Catholics and learning great new stuff about our faith by homeschooling! Hi. I'm Aaron, daddy of four: 3,2,2, and 6 weeks. I'm very excited to begin homeschooling my 3 1/2 year old in January and it looks like this forum will be a great source of info, support, comfort and prayer.
My wife and I are catholic converts of about 5 years now and I am a stained glass artist. (http://toaglass.com)
And just so you know, I have no qualms about being in a room full of estrogen  -- I'm trained as an elementary teacher, so I've gotten used to being one of a few good men struggling to keep up with you biologically superior women.
