While I would love to use it to pay off debt, it will go towards closing in our back patio to make an extra room in our house so Lydia can have her own bedroom.

We haven't been to the dentist in years, and all of us but the baby have cavities. If there is any left over, we will probably either pay off debt with most or put it in savings. We are thinking about taking advantage of Kroger's offer of giving $30 when you buy a $300 gift card. The way groceries are going up, a 10% increase would be helpful.

A storm cellar. And a tiller for the garden. Both of which we NEED for peace of mind and actual steady use.
And then maybe some piglets and food for them.

My husband's school is forcing us on year-round paychecks starting in August. It will cut our monthly income by like $600 dollars a month during the school year, but then we'll have big fat checks next summer. (For the past few years we've had feast during the school year and famine during the summer.) In the long run we know it will be a good thing, but we're putting our check in savings to get us through until next summer.
I'm also getting about $1000 dollars from my late grandmother's "estate". Most of it will go in savings, but I might splurge on some lawn chairs to make all these t-ball practices and games a little more comfortable.
Of course, we'll also have medical bills coming up for this new little peanut, who I hope will be here by the end of this week. At least the boards should be back up by the time I'm ready to post a birth announcement.

barbara, praying for your new little one's arrival!
We found a great deal at Sears:- a dishwasher, stove, and fridge all for 1500.00!! our oven temps vary by as much as 70 degrees one way or the other, and I am so excited to have enclosed elements so maybe the oven will stay a bit cleaner, LOL!!
This will be the first time in our marriage that I will have more than 20 cu ft fridge, I've never had an icemaker or water, yippee.
It will be so nice to ditch this old "bisque" stuff.
we will now have bright white.
with as low end of appliances as we bought (all kenmore, but all pretty basic) we could not justify spending almost 500.00 more just to change to the stainless...even though it looks so nice, sigh, BUT!!!
we never get anything new, ever,!! so just had to share my excitement!!
looks like we won't have much left for flooring. dh will install laminate we found at SAM's club as time and money allows. We are hoping to phase out this stinking carpet- any thoughts/regrets on going to wood /wood laminate after carpet??

I'd like to save it, but we recently moved and have no office furniture. So we'll be spending it on needed furnishings.

I hope so...'cause my dh says we are definitely, really, for sure, no doubt about it going to get a new bed for us. I'll believe it when I see it. Something more important always comes up, and the new bed gets bumped out of the lineup.
With the leftovers...
I have a little more curriculum to buy for next year.
More mulch for the front gardens.
New sheets!!!! Oh how I long for pretty, new sheets!
A nice set of shiny (and very pricey) All Clad pots.

While I would love to use it for expenses to go see my mom and my brother and his family across the country this summer, we have other plans for it. We need to get the oldest 2 dd's new glasses and I would like to sign up the kids for a session of swim lessons (maybe?). We are also going to buy all the 4 oldest birthday presents and put them up until their birthdays, the baby already had her birthday. All the rest will go into savings to help with food and gas for the rest of the year. We are going all hommade for Christmas this year so we won't have to use it for that unless we need to buy supplies.

Oh! Ours too, though I am still pretty grumbly about it since there is a great green sofa that I want from Ikea . I did get some new clothes though and we bought a new bike for our oldest ds. I am hoping there is a little left over to save toward getting the new sofa from Christmas!
Blessings,
Betsie

Nothing fun or exciting here, either: We are re-siding the house.
