Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Alright, I know no 'A' names but I'm going to throw Aurea (yes, it's a saint name) out there anyway. Sorry, call me a rule breaker.

I love the names Felicity and Marian Grace.

ohh felicity is so pretty. I had thought about that for maria but Icould not get over the dangling "y"
Marian Grace is really really beautiful.
I totally agree about evangelizing with the names. With our first 3, people did not know "who" we were so to speak, even though the kids all have patrons besides the New Testament, everyone assumed they were purely named for biblical reasons.
then once we had Dominic and Maria, wow, it opened up the Catholic thing in a great way!! also a little latin lesson (Dominic means of the Lord) and so on!!

why not have the third name (2nd middle name ) be the feast day that the birth day falls on? (or closest to) this is what we have done.

We've done the feast day thing a few times ourselves, Isaac on the Feast of St. Isaac Jogues, Mary on the feast of Our Lady of Fatima. Funny thing, our Samuel, 6th child, was born on the feast of St. Sixtus! We briefly considered Samuel Sixtus!

was baptized on St Louis Marie de Montfort's feast day,
April 28th.

I'm partial to Avila...I'm hoping that one day I'll get to use that!

Avila Evangeline would be our choice ....

Just call me lame - or not...I just read that your name can't start with "A."

I'm off to ponder....

Tatiana.
She was a Roman martyr and her feast day is in January, on the day my baby girl died in utero who was to be named Tatiana. It is a slavic name which actually means fairy queen I think. It is my favorite but I guess we will not be using it anymore, so I thought I would share it with someone else.

Hmmmm...Well, How about I just give you my list of baby girl names?? (stars on the ones I've used already, lol)

*Lily Katharine (St Katharine Drexel)
*Helena Ardith (I was going to use Helena Elizabeth, and get a double saint whammy, but then a favorite great aunt died)
*Sophia Charlotte (Sophia for St Sophia, and Charlotte for St Charles Borromeo--its also the name of a Hanoverian English princess)

Julia Faith
Lucy Claire
Amelia Therese
Celia/Cecilia Margaret

I like alot of other names, too. Sophia Frances (would DH be okay with it as a middle name?) is pretty, what about Maria Virginia? Mary Grace?

I do guess we ought to know how many syllables your last name has (that does impact the flow of it all), and what letter it starts with...

Rachel

we have a Reesie Anna.. Reesie is from Theresa....

I always have to deliver my babies before they get their final name. I went in to deliver the baby we lost at 18 weeks thinking it was Faith Noelle or Nicholas... I looked at him and we named him Mark.. God knew his name way before we did.
Thanks for doing this.. I'll check back to see your updates!!
Congratulations!

We are engaged in the task of negotiating for a girls name here as well. Boys name is chosen. Here are some beloved names from my list that dh has already nixed:

Jane Frances
Mariana Soledad
Genevieve Honora
Gemma Caeli
Evangeline Christine
Mariam Astrid
Theodora "Thea" Rose
Mercedes
Bernadette Therese

We already have:
Louisa Lyons (family surname)
Clara Cecilia-Marie
Raina Maren (prn. MAHR-en)

Well, you haven't made it easy, Martha.

Bridget once pointed out that my name could be after St. Gregory of Nyssa - sorta saint-y.

Here are some of *my* faves, though some of them won't work with your list.

Catherine Elizabeth
Caroline Grace
Sophie Mireille
(all my three living daughters)
Rachel
MaryRose(by dh's Memere)
Louise (dh's other grandma)
Arabelle Faustine (my grandmother's name, spelled Fostena on her birth cert.)
Brigid
Margaret or Marguerite
Emma
Charlotte
Benedicta
Fiona
Claire
Dorothea Sarah (my other grandmother's name)

At this rate, I'll need a dozen or so more daughters.

Erin got me all excited about baby naming again. Can we update this thread? I need help with girl names too! We like "slightly" left of center Catholic saint names. And all our daughters will have some Marian connotation in their names. No shortening type names...

Our one daughter is Miriam Thérèse.

I like Rita, Kateri, Zita, Stella, Felicity... but am not sure if I love any of them.

No letter restrictions but I don't really want another M first name which severely limits the Marian names (M is ok for the middle). Would happily use Fatima as a middle name if the first name could fit it.

Ideas?

Can't remember what if I shared before but our girls are:
Chiara Marie
Mariah Therese
Genevieve Rose

note all have a Marian theme, Marie obvious, Mariah is a variation of Mary and Rose after Our Lady of the Rosary.

I really like Kateri but that was voted down

I had on our list for this baby (due Christmas) Gianna but everyone else if voting for Siena Caeli (Caeli is also Marian after Our Lady Queen of Heaven)
I actually like Caeli for a first name but happy either way.
