Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have a friend whose son's name is Simon Peter...like John Paul...he was born on Christmas, so his middle name is Emmanuel. I have always loved his name.

My vote is for Simon.

If you want an F name, how about Felix (there is a Felix in Acts).

Philip is six letters, but sounds like five

simon = simon says = no from dh
felix is a cat not a boy
ruben is a sandwich not a boy

Personally, I really like the last two.
Dh is being difficult about this though so those aren't likely to happen.

Thadeous would have to be a middle name, which we kind of like it for. (T = Tobias = already taken!)

I really like these, but they are all middle names, not first name qualifiers.
Nathaniel
Maximillion
Lucas
Vincent
Thadeus

Keep the suggestions comming!

But its such a yummy sandwich

Isn't the sandwich spelled Reuben? Not that it would make a difference to your dh.

I think your dear hubby is going to have to loosen up a bit - as you are already aware there are not very many names available that meet the criteria.

Pretty much all the names I would consider somewhat common have been mentioned other than Linus and Hiram. Then there are the really different/obscure ones Iever, Laban, Palti, Reuel, Uriel listed in some Biblical name lists. That is pretty much it.

For naming sake, I'm hoping you have a girl!

Okay, not Biblical, but I subscribe to the "Saint of the Day" feature on iGoogle, and today's saints are Soter and Caius. I didn't check if these were letters you already used, but I noticed that they are five letters each and uncommon enough that you probably don't know any of them IRL. So I came to post them.

Martha, have you ever seen "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers"? They had 7 sons (duh!) and named them down the line of the alphabet from the Bible -Adam-Benjamim-Caleb-Daniel-Eli-Frank-Gideon. When someone pointed out that Frank was not biblical, they assured him that it indeed was - short for Frankincense. There ya go...

Did anyone mention Jesse? Or is that one of the no-no letters? Thank goodness I'm having a girl!

Martha, you're cracking me up!
