**update on page 2**
Our 7yod will need more surgery after all. We've tried everything to avoid this, but after months at the max. adult dosage of every glaucoma med there is, she is still sustaining optical nerve damage (as well as losing weight and a myriad of other side-effects). Wednesday, April 23rd, she will have an artificial drain implanted in her eye (with a "patch" covering it from a cornea donor)as a last-ditch effort to save it. Please pray for her, for her doctor, and for the donor and his/ her family.
Also, dd is feeling guilty about all of the trouble/ financial difficulties, please pray for her peace of mind as well.

Poor thing! I am so sorry. Having gone through two surgeries with our 6yo, I cannot imagine how your sweet daughter and you all must feel. Praying fervently to St. Lucy and Padre Pio for your daughter and for the surgeons.

Thank you all. If you can, please offer up a prayer to Saint Lucy 9:30 tomorrow morning. Dd's doctor prays before every surgery, and will allow me to be in the room with dd until she is asleep so that we can pray together. We should be used to this by now, but even though dd is doing well, I'm afraid Mommy and Daddy are not.

... and all is well! The surgery was a bit tricky considering all of the scar tissue from the tumours and previous surgeries, but the doctor was able to be "creative" and get the drain implanted.
Dd came out of the anesthesia pretty quickly, gobbled freezies as fast as the nurses could get them for her, and asked to go home and get her soy ice cream a good hour before we thought we'd be leaving.
She's uncomfortable, but not in pain, resting and watching a movie- morphine is a wonderful thing :-)
We'll be back every day for at least two weeks for check-ups (the two major concerns are infection and breakdown of the donor cornea), so that's a lot of travelling (four hour round-trip), so prayers please for safe travel and quick healing.
