Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

we have done it the same way with all four kids.

I got underware, training pants, and pullups.
for hte first few days they wore training pant (thick undies), then only undies after that. at night and naps...pullups.

we put the potty chair (a couple just used the toilet) in a bathroom that would be used the most.

got a kitchen timer

and some small candies. this time around we have candy hearts.

we set the timer for fifteen minutes and just had the kid go sit on the chair. if something happened they got a candy. if nothing.. no candy. we usually got it down to a half hour by the end of the first day.
then pushed it to every hour. by week's end I would just tell them to go potty through out the day.

adn I agree about the carpet cleaner! lol accidents do happen.

(hugs) and good luck

We have been very successful when we just stop all together with the comfort of pullups. All of my girls potty trained by 3 by not having the luxury of a pull up... When they aren't in the house, they can't wear them. I let them wear them at night until they started waking up dry repeatedly... but then each child is different. We stop all drinks by 7pm and with dinner they only haven one glass of milk ( takes longer to digest than water)
The most nerve wracking thing is to go to Mass with panties on a 3 year old.
We did use the one m&m method for a while until the child got used to going.
My Son potty trained in a day due to us traveling from TX to GA.. he went everytime we stopped.
Good luck!
