Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It is often a sign of anemia. I do it too. I am trying very hard to get my iron levels up so that the craving will go away because I am also worried about my teeth!

Gee, thanks guys..this thread has made me realize I am inordinately attached to SOOOOOOOO much more than I originally thought

In addition to the chocolate/coffee/cheese/bedding/linens that I previously posted about in Maryan's original thread.. I can also toss my hat in the 'addicted to books' ring.

Like Wendy I LOVE a good purse/tote/bag

I swoon over baby clothing in pale pastels and made of soft, soft cottons..

Lip gloss and mascara

Little girl's dresses.

Bone china with delicate floral patterns...

Embroidered anything...

Rosaries...crazy, I know, but I love all sorts of rosaries, even those cheap colourful plastic ones. I'm the girl at the Catholic bookstore who gets excited
at the purple and green plastic rosaries!! Woohooo!!!

Well now. After all that fun I'm off to make an appointment with my confessor!

Books:-) (But I don't really count them, because they're _good_ for you:-) )

Chocolate?

River Rooster Hawaiian pack (deep fried chicken, banana, pineapple ring, and chips... they're not deep-fried!) or failing that, Chicken Treat chips:-)

At the moment? (I'm pregnant...) it's mini-cheezels... don't know why they're _so_ much better than ordinary cheezels:-)

I'm also pretty keen on Bundaberg Ginger Beer:-) (and if you add Peter's Gingerbread icecream, to make ginger spiders? Wow!)

_Now_? I'm _really_ hungry!

The reason I haven't posted my full list of vices is because I have a serious, SERIOUS case of breastfeeding amnesia!! But other girl's postings are stimulating my memory - BUNDABERG GINGER BEER!!! Oh yeah! I've had one today, had MORE than one yesterday drank it the day before too, shall I keep on going? No, I don't think so, you're getting the picture.

And Bundaberg is the best!

5. Painted toenails, won't leave the boat without 'em.

Let's see ....

1. Books (buying, collecting, and reading. Having discovered Half.Com, I've become really dangerous)

2. This board, especially; the internet in general. I can learn about anything and everything from the comfort of my own home.

3. Lavender soap. If the soap doesn't fill the bathroom with the scent of natural lavender, it just doesn't feel like a real shower to me.

Peace,
Nancy-

Of course, the internet...

which includes Netflix instant viewing. We got rid of television last summer, but instant viewing became unlimited about the time I got pregnant; so, I'm embarrassed to admit how many episodes of the Dick Van Dyke show I've let my boys watch this week...

...and Murder She Wrote. I really like a good whodunit. Agatha Christie, Father Brown, Dorothy Sayers, Campion and now Jessica Fletcher, lol. My husband doesn't get this AT ALL--all he sees is that I like watching people get killed I don't think that's it, of course. Part of it is nostalgia--I grew up watching Perry Mason reruns and Matlock.

Though, I'm like Annie and my vices go through fluxes. I'm pretty sure I will get tired of Angela Lansberry soon but will find another frivolity to take its place. I also go through phases of watching entire series at once from the library like "All Creatures Great and Small" last summer...

So, what is a "Chicken Treat Chip?" My three year old, after having had jellybeans in plastic eggs, came and earnestly asked if he could have another "chicken treat." I thought he made it up!!

Oh, it is! And because we try to make sure the kids eat well, I manage to avoid (the foodstuffs, at any rate!) most of the time... but, when I get a chance...:-)

Chicken Treat is a fast food chain (BBQ chicken) (Wow! I hadn't realised until I looked for a link that they started in Perth, where I'm from!). They seem to have the ideal size of chip (not too thick, not too thin), and they use chicken salt... Mmmm! I love my sweets, but I'm really a savoury girl:-)

I have so many vices that it is hard to list them all! Perhaps when one has more vices than non-vices (?) it should be called something else    Okay, here are mine:
1. Diet Coke (BIG time!!!)
2. Pizza from Hungry Howies after the kids go to bed
3. Raspberry Sorbet in a waffle bowl from Cold Stone Creamery
4. Vanilla Latte's from Starbucks and Bear Claw Coffee
5. Tote bags, purses, etc.
6. Books on loan from the library (I once actually got to the limit, which is 125 books out at a time. This is noteworthy because the librarians didn't even know there WAS a limit !!!)

See what I mean about more vices than not! I know there are more, but the dish boy is banging my Fiestaware around and I must go find a book at the library that tells me how to stop him doing that!

Blessings,
Betsie

Oh, dear--you reminded me of this fabulous raspberry frozen yogurt I used to get at a little ice cream shop down the street from my parents'. It was unlike any other frozen yogurt I've ever had: very yogurt-y, nice and tangy. And the serving sizes were huge...

I think reading this thread is actually inspiring MORE vices for me!

Oh yes I do. I really dislike Pepsi products!

That's my one big negative of marrying a Penn State fan -- State College is basically Pepsi country. When I go for a game I'm always wanting to give my kingdom for a Diet Coke!

I find DP too sweet tasting. I can cut it with lemon to make it a little better.

Okay this is not a vice, well I'm not addicted or anything but my friends tease me because I have a 'thing' about covering my books in book plastic. I buy new books and I must cover them.

My husband understand that it protects and gives longer life, but he does think I'm a little strange when I ask him to 'feel' the covered book. But it does feel so nice.

Oh and my friends have ended up buying plastic themselves and asked me to show them how to cover their books.

And my children? They're converted. We picked up a book from the op-shop the other day and I heard the six year old in the back seat say in a scandalised voice, "Mum this book is not covered!"

Maybe I do have a vice.
