Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Our vices are SO similar. If left to my own devices, I fear our diet would be Dunkin Donuts in the morning, for lunch I'd probably still do PB&J, but for dinner...I'd hit every pizza, hamburger and tex mex place nightly if I could. But my more frugal and healthy dh puts his foot down.

Oh dear...

I think most of mine have already been listed: coffee, baked goods, procrastinating via the computer, eating out.

I have also become completely addicted to the Star Trek and Stargate series. My dad just lent me Season 1 of 24, and I am afraid to watch it for fear that I will do NOTHING else until I've watched it all... and then I'll need Season 2!

4Real! Really, I can get lost here for far too long if I am not careful, especially on gloomy days or fussy baby days. Today has been both of those.

My other vices are candy and catalogs of any kind.

And I can so relate to the eating out vice, as I just threw a little internal tantrum about not wanting to fix dinner (busy here, you know! ). Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, there just isn't any money for eating out right now.

Oh, and Tracy, be warned: if you start 24 you won't be able to concentrate on anything else until you have seen them all! Been there, done that.

Books--not that they're a vice really, but it can be if you buy one after it's recommended by a member of this board or other especially when your stack of books to read covers almost two shelves.

Starbucks mochas.

Chocolate. Chocolate. Chocolate.

This sounds like heaven to me

I like to spend time in the kitchen, but only baking. I always say if we could live off baked goods my family would be very well fed.

Oh, I know, that's what people keep telling me! So, it is sitting by my computer right now. Kiefer Sutherland has this intense gaze on the cover, like he is daring me to watch it. Hmm, maybe I am projecting???

Mine would have to be diet-coke. One of the kids usually brings me one in the morning while I am still waking up.

Books, my father says I have a built in radar for book sales.

Containers, cute, nostalgic looking containers. Tins with pretty pictures, flower pots, tin pails, etc., I just love them.

Chocolate milk, it's on sale right now for $1.99 a gallon.

Garlic hummus, my dh calls it Catholic B/C

ebay

I have a Diet Coke thing too! I'm trying to quit and drink only coffee, tea, and water. I think I really like the Diet Cokes because they are already cold and available!

Sweaters. I love sweaters! And I have 3 daughters who I love putting in sweaters. I constantly have to reassess about how many sweaters we need...

Sweets. Anything - candies, cakes, baked goods. Cookies are my ultimate down fall as I can always justify in my mind that they make a great breakfast with coffee in the morning!!!    I don't buy sweets, and I'm always disappointed when I return home from the grocery store! If they are around though...watch out!

Internet in general. Sometimes I feel a little trapped staying home all day with 3 little kids. It's like a window to the outside world. Although, if I am having a hard day, it's harder for me to get off and face reality.

Speaking of which....I think I'm going to go have a diet coke float while I wear my favorite sweater and read some more posts.

I wish I could come up with a very original answer like... I don't know... but since I lack wit let's be honest:

-Books -I have to exercise extraordinary will power not to order every book Elizabeth Foss, or Rebecca(at Gypsy Caravan)talk about, especially about housekeeping and getting organized. Heck, it is a lot easier to read about it that doing it.

-I love to collect recipes from magazines and the internet.

I can't think of any other "inordinate attachments" at the moment. Wait! I forgotten the worst: THE INTERNET.

Do I dare say it?

Dancing with the Stars.

I have long wanted to learn how to ballroom dance - I told my dh that I want to do this with him...maybe once we move we can try for lessons!

My vice would defintely be chocolate. Mind you that could include....... chocolate ice cream, chocolate cookies, chocolate cake, hot chocolate, mochas....... I think you get the picture.
It's kind of funny (well maybe not) when your priest asks you during confession 'How's the chocolate thing coming along?'

Mine are:

1. White Chocolate Mocha Latte from Starbucks. I treat myself to one per week.

2. Plants!!!!! I just bought 9 perennials this afternoon for our Blessed Mother's garden. My dh and I go on a date to the garden center every week.

3. Picture books

So do you think that it might be a tad too expensive to come over and share our vices together?

Boy! We'd have so much fun together. I'm going to Starbucks on Friday to see if they have some syrup to make my coffee taste close to it.

Wow, 38 responses already?!! I just got here!!

Mine:

books like you all, but to be honest, it's more than that:

I am an information junkie. There. I've said it. I cannot seem to let go of information that "we might need one of these days". Even though I'm also Google Queen around here and I know how easy it is to find information these days.

My other vice:

"the best of" ___insert item name here___ -- i have a long list of must-tries and must haves, mostly food or food-related, e.g.,

macarons from laduree
tea from mariage freres
jamon iberico from spain

and one cookbook/cuisine (i've given this up now)

and so on and so forth....

lately i've also been addicted to the idea of travel. i have about 40 books out right now just on Europe. argh.   why i even thought i could reading these in the middle of decluttering the house is beyond me.

~the internet.

~Buying custom handmade outfits for dd5 off of ebay.

~buying books. (anyone else feel like every time they visit 4real - or a few 4Real Mom blogs - that they end up with another book on their wishlist?!?!)

~buying handmade purses/totes/bags

~buying too much curricula....I could supply a small school, I think...

~french fries from In & Out Burger (and if it wasn't for my flakey stomach & IBS, they would be accompanied by a big ol' chocolate shake, too!)
