Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

OK...do tell...psychotic dog? Is that somehow related to owning a Dyson vacuum cleaner?

I grew up in Putnam in the Northeast. But I've been to Cheshire lots of times and had friends from there--so there's our connection!

I have never been to Putnam (but I do know where it is)... so I'm glad you've been to Cheshire!

Okay, I have never played this game, so Nancy and Jenn, you have to coach me.

First, I met Maryan at the 4Real Conference. She may not remember me, but I remember her infectious laugh! Look for me as I think that I was dressed in a black jumper.

Does it count that I love coffee?
I don't have a psychotic dog, but I do have a Dyson vacuum (brand new in fact).

Does this count as any degrees?

Six Degrees of Separation is the official term, and the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon was the popular game.

Really, we could make this game less than 6 degrees, because it does seem like we're in such a smaller circle.

Carole, even if you didn't meet Maryan, you specifically met me, and I know Maryan, so that's two degrees!

Are Dysons cheaper in the UK?

Funny thing how Consumer Report doesn't rate them very highly, but all my friends and family who own one love it. It's so silly but after 3 years of owning this vacuum, I still look forward to pulling it out and using it. It gives me such great satisfaction.

Not that this relates to Maryan at all but I actually have a friend who hates her Dyson! She's the only I know though like that! So maybe she answered those Consumer Reports surveys

Okay, I love my Dyson ... it is so powerful, it pulls the fuzz out of the carpet (we do not have pile carpet in the house we are buying). It gives me such a thrill "to hoover" (that's what they say in Wales). And I am not the best housekeeper in the world.

Jenn, appliances are not less expensive here. But cheese is!

Okay, I will go and read about the Six Degrees. Does the coffee count?

Psychotic dog??? I am not a dog person, and Mary Chris's dog is one that I actually like. She's really rather calm.

And I know Maryan because of Mary Chris. She introduced us last summer at the IHM Conference. Then Maryan helped us to celebrate my youngest dd's 1st birthday last October with a trip to the zoo. Dd and Mary Chris share a birthday, so it was a double celebration!

I posted this in the other thread.

Oh, oh, I can play. My son's AP English teacher is a Dominican sister who used to teach at Seton with Maryan and is the real life sister to one of Maryan's SILs.

...but I have another way I can get to Maryan, in a few degrees.

My sister went to Steubenville.
She was housemates with Jenn Miller for a semester.
Jenn is an IRL friend of Maryan.
