Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wow. Well, we've been on one income for a long time--since dd was a yr old. Things have been tight, here and there, and I've had job offers--but I couldn't make enough working to justify paying someone else to watch the dc. DHs military hours being so "iffy", and then being deployed over and over again, well, it just wouldn't work.

Now, of course, we could likely use the extra income, and if/once DH gets some good regular hours, I may consider seeing if one of the two stores here in our new town (its 20min to the closest bigger towns, and that's a gallon of gas each way) can use some help...doubtful, but we'll see. He works shift work (Emergency Dispatch--911--for our new county), and his shifts change every 2 mos, as do his 2 days off per week. Right now I am trying to cut our costs as much as I can, which is helping some. And waiting to see what the VA says about his disability percentage, his CRSC/CRDP (special extra money since most of his disabilities are a result of his time in active combat). Once we know those figures, then we will know more about how our long term finances are going to look...*THEN* we will know how much, if any, I may need to bring in a month.

We're squeaking by now, but we will be tighter as the months progress....

Hoping I won't have to, but figuring I might...

Rachel

I do a bit of freelance web development, I've been doing it for about 8 years freelance and before that I worked 3 years for an multimedia company doing web development/programming.    But that is mostly slush money. We can live off DH's income. I wouldn't be against working a part time job if we really needed me to do so.
