Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ladies;

Words cannot express how thankful I am to you all for your kindness and prayers.

Last night I became braver, posting a few links for the rare lung disease my husband has on the right side bar of my blog. It's a baby step towards exiting from difficult mental and emotional niches we've come to find ourselves cloistered within, and we pray it will be a baby step for now, linking us towards a support system medically (eventually) for the difficult walk ahead. As things unfold, I'll share again.

Please know how appreciated you all are, so very much so! Thank you, thank you!

My dear Canadian friend!

Your dh and your whole family are in my prayers for healing and strength. I can only fathom are hard this cross must be for your whole family.

I just looked over your blog! How beautiful! I can't wait to have time to pour myself a cup of tea (I might need a teapot full) and read more about your delightful family. I have always been amazed at your creativity (remember the days of the old FIAR board). And now, with all these beautiful pictures, I will be able to not only read about your wonderful ideas, but also see them! I'm so excited!

Praying for you!

Your French Canadian friend,
Louise

November 18, 2008,

An update here and further prayer request please;

Thank you so much for your continued kindness and prayer for my husband. The power of prayer is absolutely beautiful and offers us so much; peace for our very crosses and burdens.

After being off work for medical purposes for 16 months, my husband was able to get back to work with a change in career portfolio which has been a blessing in disguise for my AA+ personality man (wink). It allows him to keep mentally challenged and distracts him from his physical woes as his lung disease continues to ravage his body.

With a new portfolio comes a major move for our family (again!) in just three weeks from now. We never understood the idea completely for such a move, at least it never made sense to us the steps we were walking. Until last week.

My husband received a telephone call while we were out with the children in our vehicle, with him driving last week. On the other end of the line the transplant co-ordinator nurse was on the cell phone (strange place to get this call, always thought it would be different somehow) and informed him along with his referral to our new area of residence came the recommendation from his doctor that he was now to be placed upon the lung transplant list. At the surgeon appointment set before him in mid January, we would find out "where" on that list he will be. The shock is wearing off slightly and there is much to do for me with a major move very shortly.

Not only are we making a major move here, we will have a zero support group system in place in our new foreign area, my parents are traveling here for Christmas, and then our lives will have a huge challenge shortly after. Looking back now, clearly we can now see the hand of God in all these things, in every detail, right down to the esteemed Respiralogy doctor we personally hoped for at the beginning referred to us as a preference to the surgeon, his office is only eight minutes from our front door at a brand new hospital. We also landed the surgeon we had hoped to have (the best in Canada we are told) and a completely new physiotherapy program located nearby for the next round of twelve weeks for my husband.

It's all so much to absorb and although we have been expecting this for a long time,we had always hoped for a miracle and believe one could still be possible yet, but emotionally my husband is so very fragile right now and it's just so tough.

I pray for a hedge of protection around him, and all of us, one of great peace of soul and mind to trust in the way God has already ordained our lives to be. Jesus we trust in Thee!!! Once again I humbly ask for prayer if you think of my husband and our entire family.

I will continue to blog though I'm not quite ready to detail this latest information yet on there. I will always remain chipper and very cheery in my posts and it's a definite fun place to ponder thoughts and family times for our relatives and big married kids back home. No one though in our inner circle of family is dealing with this very well, so upsetting and yet so promising at the same time. So bittersweet.

Thanks so much everyone in advance. We so need to be "carried" right now. Whew, my head is spinning with much to do. Hugs.

Renee, somehow I missed your earlier thread and am just catching up now.   Anyway, you and your husband have another prayer "carrier".   God bless you and keep you!
