Well, um ... I hate to tell you this but as we age and then the more pregnancies, it is very possible to gain more weight .... trust me on this one! Also, could it be twins?

Molly, I sympathise with your fears, I had been vomiting badly with a virus in Annuncia's pregnancy and I had not at that stage heard her heartbeat, so at 16 weeks I was very anxious, because I usually feel my babies move really, really early and hadn't felt that either...so it was a blessed relief to hear her little heartbeat!

I also have weight troubles in pregnancy, so I'm praying for you, for good health and peace.

Re weight gain - I never put on more than 25 lbs (except for the twins) - and most of my weight is put on in the first 20 weeks - despite the hyperemesis.

You could be retaining water.   I would imagine that hyper-emesis could throw off your hydration balance and cause you to retain water. Maybe as you're able to be more active and keep more down it will balance out.
