I have to report that I finally got to meet Erica (and her adorable little Max) at the Family Centered Learning Conference this past weekend. What a delight!
I also was able to meet Mary (Mare). It was so fun to see old friends like Diane (what a nice surprise), and finally meet some longtime online friends whom I first met either here or through the CCM Yahoo group before this forum existed. My girls and dh spent the day with the families of Karen E and Alice, so a wonderful time was had by all of us.
Thanks to Michele and all the speakers for a great day!

I am so glad I was able to attend the conference. I wrote in a bit more detail on my blog.. just trying to sort out my thoughts. The talks were wonderful. But the best part was getting to meet so many wonderful moms! It was such a treat! Erika, so happy you and Max made the trip!

Irene, I've felt a connection with you from the first day I joined this forum. It was a pleasure meeting you in person. Oh, how I wish we had days or weeks to spend with each other! With everyone who attended, really. Your family was just lovely and I know our girls would be instant friends. I'm so glad you made the trip up and also that you were able to tack on some family vacation time afterward. (We've been away on a long, dirty :) camping trip ourselves, thus my delay in responding.)
Mary and Leocea and Chris, how fun(!) to meet you. It is just an amazing thing to 'know' someone from a blog or forum and then meet them in person and get a much bigger picture of their personality and hear their voice.
Golly, I could go on and on about all of the other women I met at the conference (I'd be a total name dropper!), but I'm sure many of you have read the blog posts by all of the women who attended. I found myself laughing out loud and calling my children to the computer (dh husband would just roll his eyes, so he wasn't included :)) each time I'd see a picture of myself or Max. Being a non-blogger and pretty much a nobody and feeling a little bit crazy for travelling clear across the country to attend this conference, it was quite fun seeing those pictures.
Fun conference. Great talks (I highly recommend the CDs). Beautiful women. Totally worth it. I'd definitely go again.
