I very much need your prayers. Some of you know that we've been expecting a baby girl by adoption, the due date was January 29th. On Thursday the baby's birthmother, Karla, had a doctor's appointment and was to report in afterwards. We were expecting to hear whether and when induction was to be scheduled. But she hasn't called, isn't answering her phone, and isn't returning calls. I have a feeling that she has changed her mind and is afraid to tell us.
I don't feel angry - I know this an incredibly difficult think for a birthmother. I am just praying for God's will to be done and for Karla to have the strength to do what she believes to be truly best for her baby. But - I NEED to know what is going on. The not knowing is SO hard. I have spent every waking moment for the past 4 weeks preparing my home and my heart for this baby. The boys and I have been reading books on new babies, I've gathered piles of pink baby sleepers, chosen a name, our bags and the infant carseat are packed and sitting in my bedroom, ready for the trip to Texas, caregivers and playdates are arranged for the boys, I know every flight to Houston, every time the phone has rung over the past two weeks my heart races, and EVERYONE asks me - any news? I think I already know that it's not going to happen, but I can't move on until we know for sure. And emotionally it feels like a late-term miscarriage is happening.
Please pray a memorare for me, baby, and birthmother (Karla). Thank you so very much.
