I've been wanting to post for a while, but hadn't had a chance. I developed severe pre-eclampsia at 26 weeks and was transported to UVA for an emergency C-section. Margaret Mary McClure was born at 6:31 a.m., August 27, weighing 1 pound, 10 ounces, and measuring 13 inches long. She is doing well for such a tiny girl, but is scheduled for surgery tomorrow to close a valve near her heart (a PDA, which is typical of preemies). Chris and I would really appreciate your prayers. Thank you!!!

Wendy, praying with you this second. St. Margaret intercede for baby Maggie. Welcome Maggie! Sts. Cosmas and Damian, brother physicians, be with Maggie's surgeons. Extra angels surround her and her family.

Oh, Wendy! We will certainly be praying. I was thinking of you as I walked into Mass yesterday. I bet fell over when I saw your post this morning. May God bless Maggie and your family. I am heading to Mass this morning and will lift little Maggie up in my Mass intention.

Oh Wendy! You & Maggie will certainly be in my prayers. Listen, please don't hesitate to let me know if there's any way I can be of help while you're in and out of Cville all the time. Two of your NICU nurses are friends or neighbors of mine--Melissa (tall thin redhead) and Colleen. It was such a comfort to know Stevie was in such good hands! And Maggie is too. Hoping all went well with the procedure today. Keep us posted if you're able and please drop me a note if there's anything I can do!!!

Thank you for all your prayers! Maggie's surgery went smoothly, and she is recovering fairly well. Her vital signs seem to be stabilizing, but she still has a very long road ahead of her, so please keep praying!!! We are headed back down to Charlottesville in a few minutes -- we spend 4 days there, 2 days at my parents' with our other children, and 1 day at home each week. I will post updates as I am able.
Oh, and the novena to Our Lady of La Leche (for Bridget -- congratulations!  ) is wonderful! I have been pumping every 2-3 hours and need all the help I can get.

Thanks for the update Wendy. Glad to hear that the surgery went well. I will continue to pray for baby Maggie, and for you and your family as well. All that pumping will be well worth while, but I can only guess at how exhausting this all has been for you. Keep up your strength and rest when you can.

Thanks for the update, Wendy. Barley in all forms (including beer) supposedly helps milk production (worked for me!) and drink Mother's Milk Tea, too.
