Angie, that chart sounds awesome! 
My 11yo is so fond of making charts (Santa brought him pads of graph paper, lol), I'll have to set him to work on one for us.  We don't visit sanctuaries too often (not nearly enough) but maybe we could make one for our yard?

My dd (8 y.o.) asked me to post this for all to see.
She spotted this common redpoll at our finch feeder today.
After reading the info at the site linked, we feel very fortunate since they only migrate south occaisionally.

Very cool, Marie!
We were excited to see 2 female cardinals in our yard yesterday. At first we thought they were our usual cactus wren friends, but on closer inspection, 11 yo ds identified them correctly. We have never seen them in our yard before but they are seen in the more rural areas around here. Unfortunately, no males were with them...at least not in our yard.

We counted 30 head of deer in a herd that ran through our yard this morning! Kevin says they stay together for warmth when it gets this cold. Then we found, what we are pretty sure, are fox tracks all around our house. At least according to Jim Arnosky's book. Really awesome.

We had a pair of pileated woodpeckers in the woods behind our house last week. We've seen a single one here and there over the years, but never two together. I assume it's a mated pair b/c I would think the males are pretty territorial, but by the time I got the binoculars out one of them had worked its way around to the back of the tree it was pecking on and I couldn't check its markings. The other was definitely a female.
We've also had a number of downy woodpeckers and occasionally a redheaded wp at our suet feeder. Bluebirds have been frequent this year, which is new - usually we only see them rarely, in the spring.

After just telling MaryM I'm a window watcher, city girl, clueless about nature....I actually get to post something here. A FOX just ran in our backyard! And if you knew how urban we are here, you'd be just as  as I am!

We saw a bald eagle yesterday. It's about the only bird I know so this may be my one big share  .

We have these lorikeets that like to come and eat the apples off our tree,nobody minds except the dogs(lol) as the apples are tiny and very sour and we figure the birds are a greater bonus. Also at the moment the collared doves are back. This time the ones we are getting are very patchy(brown spots all over)instead of the usual creamy white. But they are still happy to feed from our hands and alight on our heads!Yesterday I saw a pair of wattle birds in the apricot tree. The bad news is that crows are nesting again in our neighbours tallest gum. One could hardly call their calls "music" and I don't trust them with the other birds that nest in our yard. Have posted a picture of the lorikeets on my blog

Right now, there is a bald eagle sitting high up in a tree in my backyard. He has been there for half an hour. I'm going back to watch now, because I really want to see it when he flies away!

This is what the boys and I saw in our yesterday!
Little toad digging himself into my mulch
It was cool to watch the little guy work his back legs to get himself completely buried. We never would have found him if we didn't see it in person!

Can I be jealous? A painted bunting is one of the top birds I would like to see...anywhere!
Last week we did have a flock of cowbirds land in our yard. Mixed in with them was a Northern mockingbird. Normally, we only see mockingbirds in another section of town...never here...so that was cool. (not as cool as spotting a painted bunting but...

LOL Angie! It's amazing how "regional" animals can be even within a region. At my friend's old house here, they always had the coolest huge skinks, but we've *never* seen one at our house. At their new house they get scorpions. We don't get those here either. (That doesn't bother me as much, though...  )
