WE HAVE HEAT! Actually, to test it, he put the thermostat (which needed replacing too) to 75 and BOY did it get HOT!
Thanks so much for all your prayers -- y'all are wonderful prayer warriors.

Well -- I guess I spoke too soon! Sometime during the night it cut out again ! I woke up at 5 a.m. to 62 degrees (not too bad, but the NEW THERMOSTAT was set to 65! ). I cranked the thermostat up to 72 to test it and after 2 hours, it's still showing 63!
After $800+ you'd think it'd be fixed -- it's only 4 years old and altho the repairman is very nice, I'm getting tired of seeing him every day....
Please pray that it gets fixed today!

I'm so sorry, Mary. We went through the same thing last year, but with AC. He came back 5 times.

Mary, have you tried tripping the circuit breaker to see if that is the problem? Even though all of ours showed "on", we had an identical sounding problem to yours earlier in the winter. I flicked the switch off, and then a minute later, back to "on", and we have not had another problem since...
praying for you!
our furnace is only 4 1/2 y/o too, and we have never "serviced" it, besides dh tinkering, lol!

Thanks y'all -- it's working but I set the thermostat to 75 at 5:00 a.m., and now at almost 10:00 a.m. it just hit 70 -- so I think I'll still have the guy come out this afternoon cuz there's no way it should take THAT LONG to heat up! I mean, the outside temp is 26 but it is blustery/breezy but still.....
