Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

This is wonderful Erin! All my kids are big Redwall fans here. They want to make an abby now too!

We're so excited -- well, I am!

My 17 yos was a big Redwall fan about 6 years ago (maybe more) -- he read them all cover to cover; but we weren't homeschooling then and I didn't know how to really go with his interest then !

Well, I know better now (thanks to this wonderful forum). But, better yet, my 6 and 7 yo are very interested in Redwall after watching Redwall: The Movie which is a great cartoon version that is very faithful to the book.

So, drum roll please, this will be our first long read-aloud of the year! And, the older two are showing signs of an interest re-kindled too.....

BTW, there seem to have been many animated movies based on the books....

Please don't laugh because my older children have these books, they loved them and they are sitting on my shelves, I honestly don't remember age inappropiate stuff except some graphic desciptions or grade level, so now that I have a nine and seven are they old enough? What are ya'lls opinions?

Well Susie,

Mine that are listening are 7, 6 and almost 4...they're really enjoying them. Some of the more intense Cluny scenes may be amended for their ears, but so far, I haven't had to purge much (a few bad words that, of course, only the bad guys use!).

Hope this helps...
