With my last pregnancy I had a huge amount of bleeding and having already having 2 miscarriages prior (with less bleeding) I thought for sure that I had lost the baby, but the next day showed a heartbeat and there were no other problems.

I have had big bleeds during pregnancy but not a miscarriage. Sometimes when I say that others say "that you know of" but I was diagnosed with sub-chorionic hematoma. And I had this in my first four pregnancies, but not with my last four.
Congratulations Cheryl! Rejoicing with you! And go easy on yourself, I was angry too, when I was told by paramedics and nurses that I was having a miscarriage when they didn't know. When we found out that the baby was alive and doing well, at first I was really happy but then I was pretty mad. They didn't really care to explain to me why I was bleeding... I was afraid to go to sleep for fear I would bleed to death.
If you can get hold of your ultrasound record, if there are sub-chorionic bleeds, they will likely have measured the sites, I had two 4mm and 5mm, and those two little spots made a whole lot of bleeding. I would ask the doctor at your next appt if you want to know.

Oh, this is good news, Cheryl. I hope the rest of your pregnancy is worry-free and this little one continues to grow to term. I will certainly keep you in my prayers.

Oh Cheryl, I'm rejoicing at the wonderful news. I empathize completely with your feelings of relief, then immediate fear as I have struggled with them for most of this pregnancy. I had an identical experience early in this pregnancy. I think the evil one uses our strong maternal love as an entry point for fear and lack of trust. I have no good advice for you - you already know that you should trust - except to say that I empathize...and will continue to pray for the health of this baby, this pregnancy and for your peace.
