Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We dyed muslin squares (like the baby ones) as we couldn't find silks at a low price - the muslins are also more durable according to a couple of books I read, and I am sure, in our home, we would need play silks made of bullet proof vest material!

I recently dyed a couple playsilks that I purchased from Dharma Trading Co. - purple and red.

I researched both methods - Kool-Aid and Wilton Icing Dye - and I decided to use the Wilton Icing Dye method.

(Sorry about the link - still do not know how to post one.)

It was fairly easy to do and the results amazing. I still have 3 more to dye.

My order from Dharma is coming today and I'm excited to dye them! I ordered a bunch of 35 x 35" Habotai silks, and I'm going to use your Kool Aid method, Mary M-- thanks so much for the tutorial!

Hey Sarah,
Our favorite "smell" was lemonade, and our favorite color was 1 pkg. blue + 3 pks dark cherry! I rinsed them out well in the bathtub.

Have fun.

Just in case anyone still needs silks, the site I referenced earlier in this thread, Let's Explore, is going out of business. All items are marked down 40%. There isn't a huge selection of colors, but for $6.57 it can't be beat! I just picked up 5. Let's Explore Play Silks
