Oh Jordan, I will be asking Our Blessed Mother to carry you in a special way during these days to come and beyond. I cannot imagine the pain and sorrow for you all but Mary is one that does, so I will be calling on her for you all.

I have been through this heartbreak. My daughter, Mary Elizabeth, was born into heaven over 4 years ago at 36 weeks gestation.
I'd like to make some practical suggestions:
1- My hospital dressed Mary in some beautiful clothes and they took pictures of our sweet girl. These are precious pictures for us. Hopefully your hospital will do the same. If not, please bring your own camera.
2- They also gave us a snippet of her hair and foot prints.
3- Hold your daughter.
4- Let yourselves mourn. Just because you know that she is in heaven, doesn't lessen your grief for her death. It is especially important to let your children see your sadness and be allowed to express their sadness. This is not something that you can just get over in a blink.
5- We had a grave side prayer service. Remember that she is just as much a person as anyone of us.
6- Please know that the Lord will love you through the pain even when you can't understand what His plans are for you.

Jordan, I pray that everything will go smoothly and that you feel the presence of almighty God with you. I know this heartache too as we delivered our son Luke back to our Lord at 16 weeks. Praying for you and your family to see Mary as a gift from above. Ask for footprints. They will touch you and be a witness to life for all who see them. A baby is a person no matter how small. May our Blessed Mother bring you comfort while you are away from your family.
