slippers.. I use them a lot in winter with the wood floors.. so they're "consumable" and I can use a pair every year to every other year.
other consumables are good too..
candles for instance
favorite candies especially ones that usually are too much for you to buy for yourself.. for me that would be things like truffles.. especially the See's Lemon Truffles.. yummmm

Theresa, I have been thinking of this thread most of the day. I was thinking more for you, as I have been given more than I could ever ask. I was thinking you should get good quality winter garmets for when you move to Alaska. Or snow shoes, or a nice basket to keep all your nature study equipment in. I am thinking of a backpack basket. Or and this is cool, a field easel! I love the peaceful thought of you and the children painting by some glorious stream in Wild Alaska, the salmon jumping and the sun shining. I can see it now. Oh and get some nice quality paints and canvas'.
Thats it for now, thanks for the fun thread |

Isn't that just the sweetest thing! What a lovely thought! You just made my day!!!

What about gift certificates for a pedicure? manicure? facial? hair do? hair cut? massage?
I'd also like skirts. I have a ton, but I'd rather have a few I really like and get rid of some others.
A gift certificate to a nice restaurant for a romantic night out with your dh?
A serger? Sewing patterns? Material?
How-to books?
A rosary necklace? There is an indulgence, I believe, of 100 days for having a rosary with you all the time. Since I don't wear pants anymore, and I don't have pockets in my skirts, I bought a custom made rosary necklace made with 4mm black cat's eye beads for the Hail Mary's and 6mm (or 8mm?) for the Our Father beads, clasp in the middle of the 3rd decades' beads. It matches everything and doesn't look tacky.
Anything for organizing is what I'd like! Perhaps a gift certificate for a couple hours or whatever with a professional organizer! I'd like that.
Gift certificate for a maid service one day.
I like gift certificates...

I'm asking for the complete collection of Spun Outs (knitting patterns) from Elizabeth Zimmerman and I would love one of her videos.
Other ideas I may throw out for people who ask:
a Catholic concordance (is ther such a thing?)
gift certificate at Barnes and Noble
to have my family room painted

OK, when we're done renovating our house (and really, when will THAT ever be?), I want to start collecting a Nativity set from here.
A really unusual, upscale brand of coffee would be nice in the meantime.

I asked for a Kitchenaid stand mixer (one thing I haven't re-accumulated since our return from mission) and a set of stone mixing bowls from dh. My mom is sending an amazon gift card for the whole family...BUT if I was moving to Alaska in the near future...that might be different story...what about the supplies to make a scrap book of your old home...take a photo of each room and all the outside areas...your favorite spots as well as the kids...get them each to narrate a favorite memory...or how about a gift card to a place you know is available in Alaska to pick up things you might need for your new home...or how about plane tickets for all of us to come on a bear spotting expedition ...

All I want is for someone to come into my home once a month and scrub the kitchen and bathrooms.
I would have peace and joy the whole year through.

Ditto Anne's suggestions!!!
Since you are juggling a lot of kids too, I don't know if NC has them (NOVA does) -- but gift certificates for house cleaning or pre-made meals sound heavenly!!
Plus maybe if someone else were doing those for you, we could see more blog pictures of you doing what you do best!! (Not that I doubt that you are a great cleaner...)

Wool.
Wool.
More wool.
A second life to have the time to make all the things I would love to with all that wool.
(Last time I had a request for what would you REALLY love to have for your birthday, from my Mom, and I said wool, she said, "No, come on. I mean what would you REALLY like." She is not a knitter )

LOL! Have you noticed a distinct slowdown in the homeschooling posts at LaPaz??? I sure have! We have definitely been homeschool underachievers lately. But I promise to pick it back up soon. Just you wait! I am not down for the count yet!LOL!
