Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Here's a nice book that correlates with language study that I found in the library. It is essentially a wordless book with onomatopoetic words throughout (sound like the thing they describe, like "swoosh" or "voom"). It would be nice to use if you are studying snow and onomatopoeia at the same time:

Snow Sounds by David A. Johnson

Snowflake art masterpiece. This was so simple and the results were beautiful. The perfect quick and easy "little people" activity!

Great link, Joann! I wonder if you could also cut out a snowflake with more intricate cuts (for older kids) and adhere it somehow to the canvas board, then paint over it all, and remove it, leaving a more detailed design, even? Might not be as easy as the masking tape, but worth a shot, perhaps.

Ds9 came home from German class yesterday with a stack of printable templates for cutting snowflakes. He just used the printer paper, but I think you could use the pattern to cut folded tissue or other paper, too. They are the prettiest snowflakes we've ever seen and now fill our picture window in the living room.

Expecting snow this week here so am thinking "snow" activities again. Wish I still had little ones.
