Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I guess I won't complain that milk is up to 2.58 per gallon here!
those jugs look scary!!
I'm taking a financial hit and buying about 1/3 of our milk w/out antibiotics, organic yet pasturized, it comes delivered in glass bottles and is JUST HEAVENLY!!!

Just wanted to add that our Sam's now has these jugs for milk and OJ so Costco shoppers aren't alone.

I really don't care for the jugs either--but for the cost $3.18 and the fact that the milk is hormone free I'll keep getting them!

My f-i-l used to buy one 1/2 gallon carton of milk and then re-use it several times; he kept the gallon jugs in the garage fridge and refilled the 1/2 gallon carton as needed from the jugs. (My m-i-l has arthritis and pouring from a heavy container doesn't work well for her.)

When I was a daycare provider, we were trained to put the children's milk into a Pyrex measuring cup and let them pour from that (I think it was a 2-cup Pyrex). I know that's a lot of refilling during a typical family meal, but the children really enjoyed pouring their own milk (and actually seemed to drink more because they poured it themselves!).

(Bracing for the military commissaries to adopt the same lame, designed-by-nonparents jug...)

Our Costco in Fredericksburg still has the old ones, but when dh stops in Manassas it is the new jugs. We hate them too!

Molly. We just got them in Fredericksburg. They're awful! My husband told me this morning not to get milk at Costco ever again. Lots of spilled milk here too.

I completely missed this thread the first time around. But my originaly reaction to these jugs was the same as Kacky's.

I just wanted to reassure those who are just now getting them that one does get better at pouring milk with these jugs with practice. We have hardly any dripping or spills here now, but definitely did in the beginning.
