Praying here - I'm a day late for Our Lady of Guadalupe, but I'm asking her anyway! Also asking St. Lucy to dispel the blindness and unknowns in the situation, that the truth may be known, and all may see. Many prayers for you Chari.

Hello, friends,
I just realized I should come here to request new prayers. Tomorrow I am going to be spending much of the day with my mom, being in "service" to her, bringing my oldest son along.
And, then, tomorrow evening, she will be at a "Christmas" gathering at my dad's, where both of my sisters will be. One has hardly seen or talked to her in the last year. The other told me my mom has never seen her youngest, who is now 17 mos old. My sisters live 5 min and 30 min from my mom. Isn't that so sad?
The one without the 17 mo let my mom live with her for about 5-10 yrs..(not the last 3-4)...but mom my was not exactly the grateful "guest"....and my sister is quite resentful, for that and other things. I cannot blame her. Anyway, this sister now has health problems that will probably end her life prematurely.....and the stress of dealing with my mom could put her over the edge, maybe hasten her death. I have "forbidden" anyone from asking this sister to do anything for mom. She needs to be protected. Gratefully, her oldest daughter loves my mom, and I have been able to have her help my mom, keeping my sister out of the picture.
Hmm....I did not mean to write so much. Sorry. Just please pray this all goes well, that mom does not squander the $$ she recently obtained from us through my dad, that we can all mend and heal a bit tomorrow, and anything else God sees we have need for.
Your prayers have definitely helped. My youngest sister with the baby, actually came up with the idea of maybe inviting mom to spend tomorrow evening with us (we were doing it anyway....but she brought it up).....this was HUGE. Trust me...and it came after I asked for prayers. And, then, the other sister is making big strides, too.
And, me? Well, something is changed in my heart, and I can tell you, it was seamless, and related to your prayers......I seem to be able to deal with most of this unemotionally (NOT coldly )...just not in extremes......it feels peaceful.
I reread your responses before I wrote this, and I could feel my soul gaining spiritual strength from them.
thank you all...you are always in my prayers,

Chari,
I will also pray for your Mum and family (especially your sick sister). I know what it is like to have a difficult relationship with a mother and long for a loving relationship with her. I sympathize completely.
May Our Lady of Guadalupe watch over you all and give you great comfort.
God Bless Chari
Chemai

Praying with renewed fervor, Chari, and I am glad you are feeling more peaceful. I know you are putting your trust in God and working to do your best for your beloved family.
I will ask St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, whose feast day is today, and who was no stranger to family problems and conflicts (especially religious ones), to pray for you and your family during this get-together. I got to know this wonderful saint a bit better a couple of years ago, and I really admire her perseverance.
Cyberhugs to you, dear sister!
