Well everyone, my Aunt Norma is still needing prayers. She had improved slightly in January and February due to regular draining of the fluid in her lungs. She has been in and out of the hospital since late January and the hospital says they can no longer do anything for her. She has suffered sooo very long and I am so saddened by the fact that she had to go into a nursing home last Wednesday. 
My mother talks to her every day and hopes to be able to go to her as soon as my father says the word. (Prayers for this would be greatly appreciated!) She is on morphine continuously and can no longer eat. Please say a Hail Mary for her soul, she has a strong devotion to Our Lady and prayed the Rosary and Divine Mercy Chaplet every day for years....
Please pray, also, that the staff at this nursing home be kind to her and that she die a peaceful death. She turns 87 this Thursday and the kids and I hope to get a package off to her via express mail today. 
This long, drawn-out terminal illness has been very hard on the whole family but I hope that Aunt Norma's suffering will bring her immediate family back to the Church--they are all fallen away.
Thanks for reading this rambling post--I have been up since the wee hours so very worried about this situation...I hold you all close in my prayers, as well.

Jennifer, I was horrified to read of your dear aunt's treatment - how could they neglect her like that?!? Offering a fervent prayer for Norma, may God bless her abundantly for all her suffering.

I am so sorry, Jennifer. It is very hard to watch someone dear to us suffer so much. I am sure that God is using her suffering to help those most in need, including her family. With such devotion to our Blessed Mother, I am sure that Mary is holding Norma close and interceding for her family as well.

Hi everyone,
My sweet Aunt Norma passed away last night at 9:00. We found out later that it was at the exact same time that we were praying the Rosary for her.
Her death was peaceful and she didn't die alone (our fear). She had her niece by her side.
Prayers for the repose of her soul would be so gratefully appreciated!

Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear you have lost her - what a blessing for her that you were praying the rosary when she passed away, I will pray for her soul.
