So happy for you Susan!
Do you nurse laying down? My midwife recommends this for the first few nursings, with baby's chin pulled up? This really helped me with my baby's latches, since I changed that, I had babies who didn't need to nurse as long. It seemed to make them more efficient. I just try to pass that along whenever I can, not trying to say that you are nursing wrong. It just made a big difference for me. He was 8lbs 8oz and at 6 weeks he weighed 14lbs even.

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words of welcome to my little girl!
The breastfeeding had to stop and I am now pumping milk for her, and will likely do that until I run out. She developed jaundice and was rapidly losing weight. None of our local resource people were able to figure out why she wasn't latching on properly. And after 2 days of hourly feedings round the clock to try stall the weight loss and improve the jaundice, fatigue did me in. But, I am at peace about it. She's been so sleepy and hard to feed these past couple of days that I know that we're doing the right thing by switching to the bottle. At least she's still getting my milk.
Again, Thanks for the well wishes!

Congratulations!
Sorry that things are hard on the nursing front. This is just a thought, I am not an expert and certainly don't want to complicate things further -- but my friend's baby lost a lot of weight in the first week. She ended up pumping like you and had lots and lots of advice from different experts -- until, finally, a tongue tie was diagnosed in the baby. Apparently it's more common than you might think. In this baby's case, the tongue tie was horizontal rather than vertical so very difficult to see/diagnose. Long story short, it was 'snipped' (more traumatic for mum than baby) and she was able to breastfeed successfully in the end.
Ignore all of that if it's irrelevant!! Praying for you.

Well, this may be a bit late but I finally have a picture of little Emily posted on my blog. If you would like to treated to her beautiful smile, you can find it here.
Personally, I think she's too adorable for words!

She's so beautiful Susan. I wasn't on the boards at all in August when you announced - taking a break to be ultra sick with my own pregnancy. I'm so glad to see this thread bumped by your pic announcement! How wonderful! Congratulations!
